INDIGO West (Perth–Singapore) is still only partially up. Aus Internet’s latest public note still points at an ETR of 16 Sep, with contingency through 20 Sep, and Singapore-end shunt work still lined up for 2 Oct. Central’s mid-Sep window sits in the same stretch.

Hot Failover only helps if the backup path is really there. Before a guest-heavy day or a critical upload, check InControl’s per-WAN graphs — don’t assume the Pacific underlay is fine just because Starlink looks green.

We're a certified supplier & installer and can support you or your preferred installer in deployment onboard & ashore. Starlink airtime also available with flexible plans and pool options.

SES just flew the last three O3b mPOWER birds on Falcon 9. That’s SES MEO capacity — not Starlink, and not a yacht dual-WAN plan on its own.

Super yachts, commercial fleets and government programmes still need a primary LEO path they can actually run, plus a second leg (usually cellular) that Hot Failover or SpeedFusion can flip to. One green dish light isn’t a Pacific path strategy.

Peplink’s 8.6.1 Beta 1 (out 11 Sep) can tell a Starlink dish to stop transmitting — RF inhibit for maritime and aviation restricted zones.

Handy when a vessel needs a clean “stow the radio” path from the router. It’s still beta, though. If production boxes lean on VLANs, SFP, RADIUS or SIP over SpeedFusion, stay on 8.5.4 until GA. Keep 8.6.1 beta for a lab or secondary unit for now.

Starlink Roam Unlimited Ocean Mode jumps from about $2/GB to $6/GB on 27 Sep 2026. Personal Maritime already bills Ocean Mode at that higher rate.

Same window: Starlink quietly raised the Personal Maritime vessel guideline from ~40 ft to ~60 ft LOA (terms now bar craft exceeding ~60 ft overall). Still personal/small watercraft only — documentation via support ticket — and still not for commercial use or land. Super yachts, commercial fleets and government programmes stay on Global Maritime / Priority.

Coastal unlimited and open-ocean metered are different jobs. Before the next bluewater leg, read the plan and LOA terms in the Starlink app — not a forum summary — and size dual-WAN (Starlink + cellular on Peplink Hot Failover / SpeedFusion) so a shadowed dish or an expensive Ocean Mode day does not kill the trip.

We install kit and routers, and we can provision Starlink airtime on Global Maritime / Priority and Regional Priority (not residential), plus all Starlink hardware kits. Confirm LOA and plan eligibility on the account before you promise a skipper the $185 path.

A green LED on Starlink or cellular does not mean every Pacific path is healthy.

Island backhaul events (recent example: ongoing Niue internet disruption) still matter for vessels and sites that touch those routes. On Peplink installs, open InControl and read per-WAN graphs — Hot Failover only helps if the backup leg is actually up. Schedule critical uploads for a window you have confirmed end-to-end.

Peplink 8.6.0 is GA. Do not jump a BR1 Pro, BR2 Pro, Dome or Transit fleet straight from an old 8.2 build.

Our staging path: confirm PrimeCare in InControl2, export a config backup, land on 8.5.4 first, then schedule 8.6.0 on a maintenance window. Where VLANs or SFP modules matter, hold 8.6.0 for now and stay on the staged 8.5.4 path until cleared. Legacy / mid-gen boxes: match hardware to the 8.3.2 / 8.5.5 security builds (NGINX Rift CVE-2026-42945).

Starlink Roam rules changed. Before the next coastal hop or Pacific leg, open the Starlink app and read the plan, home country, and travel alerts on the account — not a blog summary.

Coastal weekend, a delivery passage, and time beyond 12 nm are three different jobs. We install the kit and the Peplink router, and we can provision Starlink airtime on Global Maritime / Priority and Regional Priority (not residential) — plus the hardware kits.

Been running the Starlink regional roaming "hack" for years? Time's up. ⏳

New Starlink rules mean: mandatory travel registration, a 30-day cap on international use, no international roaming at all on the cheaper metered plans, and Global Roam is being phased out completely.

If your connectivity plan depends on flying under the radar, it's about to stop working.

GMTS has you covered properly — global Starlink data plans & pay-as-you-go, regional and global unlimited SIM cards, plus VSAT and OneWeb for when you need guaranteed coverage offshore or off-grid.

📡🛰️ Stay connected the right way, wherever you are. Message us to sort your setup.
