CBS – Health Costing Experts CEO, Ross Wilson, attended the signing of the new trade agreement between New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the New Zealand Embassy in Dubai this week. The agreement was signed by the Honourable Todd McClay, New Zealand’s Minister for Trade, and his UAE counterpart Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi. Ross was also able to meet and talk with other distinguished guests such as the senior Healthcare Leader and friend to CBS, Dr. Khulood Alsayegh.

CBS is expanding our existing operations with healthcare costing operators in the Middle East and we're delighted with this news.

Once the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) is in force, it will be more efficient to export to the UAE - one of New Zealand’s most important trading partners in the Middle East.

Tariffs will be immediately eliminated on 98.5% of current New Zealand goods trade, and 99% after three years.

We were honoured to welcome esteemed guest, Dr. Khulood Alsayegh to the CBS headquarters today. Dr. Alsayegh is a senior Healthcare Leader, qualified at Royal College of Surgeons and Harvard Medical School, with over 20 years of clinical experience in Ireland, USA, GCC and the UAE. She was certified as the first A.I. lead ethical assessor in healthcare within the Middle East and Africa Region and winner of multiple awards from Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid AL Maktoum, with a proven track record of success spanning various Healthcare Service Delivery Management roles in hospitals and clinics.

We were able to share with Dr. Alsayegh about our products and services in New Zealand and around the world and she was particularly interested in our growth in assisting healthcare organisations in the UAE with regard to patient costing, billing and activity based management.

Paul and Tim from CBS – Health Costing Experts attended the recent HFMA - Healthcare Financial Management Association Queensland State Conference in Brisbane and while there, they gave a presentation to Queensland Health on our reporting and analytics tool, FocusPro. Queensland Health already uses our patient costing system, CostPro and our business intelligence application, IntelPlus. Now they are in the midst of a FocusPro installation and the audience of close to 100 people were given a hands-on demonstration showing what is possible with FocusPro, such as building customisable dashboards to better visualise their data within our core systems.
As mentioned last week, FocusPro recently assisted in Barwon Health winning an Award for Innovation saying, “This bespoke user-friendly tool empowers decision-makers with instant access to critical insights and analyses, enabling informed actions at the mere click of a button.”

Paul and Tim also got to mix and mingle with other conference attendees and talk to them about how CBS – Health Costing Experts assist many health organisations in Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East and how our products make their working lives better. The event was significant enough to see Alan Coburn (formerly of CBS) temporarily step out of retirement and join us on the stand!

CBS – Health Costing Experts CEO, Ross Wilson, attended the signing of New Zealand’s free trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates. New Zealand Trade Minister Todd McClay announced the deal with his UAE counterpart Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, at Parliament yesterday.
The connection between CBS and the two Ministers is our patient costing system CostPro, which is used in each of their local hospitals. Mr Todd McClay comes from Rotorua – the first hospital in New Zealand to adopt the system over 20 years ago. Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi comes from Abu Dhabi where SEHA have been using CostPro for five years across their 14 large hospitals to measure cost and identify improvements to health services.

The agreement designates Samir Group as CBS's official representative in Saudi Arabia.
