Did you know where your modem sits can make a big difference to your Wi-Fi performance? 👀

✅ Place it in a central spot
✅ Keep it elevated and out in the open
✅ Avoid thick walls and large appliances like TVs

Once you’ve moved it, reconnect your modem and test your connection. 🔄

We’ve already seen One New Zealand Stadium in action as the home of the Crusaders, but this weekend, it stepped up a level. 37,000 people came together for its first concert, headlined by SIX60 and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. 🎶🔥

Building a home is a huge milestone. Whether it’s your forever home or an investment, it’s often one of the biggest projects you’ll undertake. You want to know you’re doing it right. ☑️

If you’re planning a build or already underway, talk to your builder about having Enable’s fibre broadband equipment, the Optical Network Terminal (ONT), installed inside your home during the build.

It’s worth doing (even if you're not connecting straight away):

Maximise your fibre | Tip #3: Check your devices and cables 💻🔌

Even with a fast fibre connection, old devices or damaged cables can hold performance back. Outdated modems, ageing routers, or worn cables can all impact speed and reliability, often without you noticing. 🐢

How to check 🔍
• Inspect your modem, router and cables for any visible wear, damage or loose connections
• Replace any equipment that looks old or isn’t working as it should
• Check your modem is compatible with your fibre service. A technology retailer or broadband provider can help.

What it means 🚀
Keeping your equipment up to date helps ensure you’re getting the best speed and performance from your fibre connection. If issues continue after upgrading, it may point to something more complex that needs further troubleshooting or professional support 👨‍🔧

On Tuesday night, some of our amazing Enable team volunteered at Ronald McDonald House South Island, cooking dinner for the families staying there.

It was a truly meaningful evening, having the privilege of sitting with families, sharing meals, and hearing their stories. A humbling reminder of the challenges so many are facing.

Ronald McDonald House does incredible work, providing comfort, care and a home-away-from-home for families going through health hardships. It was an honour to support them and their kaupapa, even in a small way.

Volunteering is a key pillar of wellbeing at Enable, and experiences like this show why (even if the kitchen got a little warm at times 😅). We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity and we’ll definitely be back ❤️

Maximise your fibre | Tip #2: Check your speed 🚀

There’s plenty of reasons to be working from home lately, which makes fast, reliable fibre more important than ever. If your connection isn’t feeling as smooth as it should, it’s worth taking a closer look at what speeds you’re actually getting.

🔎 How to check
• Use a laptop or desktop with an ethernet port
• Plug it directly into your modem with an ethernet cable
• Run a test at speedtest.net
• Repeat after each change to see if there’s an improvement

📊 What it means
If results are noticeably lower than expected, it may point to a home network or Internet Provider issue. Your provider can help troubleshoot from there.
