❤️ DO MORE OF WHAT YOU LOVE. 🇳🇿 It's Labour Day! Both our Christchurch and Wellington stores are closed today, Monday 26 October. We'll be back to our usual opening hours tomorrow. (Wellington is closed every Monday).

But today isn't all about us. It's about you.

Life's about more than sound and vision.

It's about the experiences, the people, the places and the moments that make it all worthwhile.

We'll be making the most of the day too — mountain biking, jamming with friends, enjoying lunch with family, heading off on a road trip or simply taking some well-earned time out.

Whatever you're doing today, whether it's exploring somewhere new, spending time with the people who matter or getting stuck into a passion project, we hope you make the most of it.

Whatever makes you happy, do more of it.

Happy Labour Day from all of us at The Listening Post.
Enjoy your day. The music will still be there tomorrow. 🎶

GREAT SOUND. HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT. 🔊 Love the idea of music outdoors, but don't want speakers hanging off the walls?
There's another way! The Q Acoustics QI65CW Weatherproof In-Ceiling Speakers** deliver great sound without taking up valuable space or drawing attention to themselves.

Designed to sit discreetly within the ceiling, they're an excellent solution for covered decks, patios, outdoor entertaining areas and moisture-prone spaces around the home.

✅ **Weatherproof construction** — designed for environments where ordinary speakers aren't suitable.

✅ **Discreet installation** — low-profile grilles that can be painted to blend into your ceiling.

✅ **6.5-inch drivers** — proper two-way speaker performance.

✅ **Indoor or outdoor versatility** — ideal for extending your music into another listening zone.

And there's another reason to take a closer look…

🔥 **NOW $399 PER PAIR — WAS $599!**

That's a $200 saving on a neat solution for bringing music into spaces where traditional speakers might not work.

Whether you're planning a new outdoor entertaining area, renovating or simply looking to add music somewhere new, come and have a conversation with us.

Sometimes the best speakers are the ones you barely notice — **until the music starts.**

GREAT SOUND DOESN'T STOP AT THE BACK DOOR. 🔊 TAKE YOUR MUSIC OUTSIDE — PROPERLY. We've been talking about the benefits of properly designed outdoor audio systems — and here's a great example of what we're talking about.

Meet the PSB CS1000 Outdoor Speakers.

Whether you're entertaining friends on the deck, enjoying a quiet afternoon in the garden or adding music to your outdoor entertaining area, these speakers are designed to deliver proper hi-fi sound beyond the four walls of your home.

With a 6.5" woofer, titanium-dome tweeter and weather-resistant construction, the CS1000 combines PSB's renowned sound quality with the durability needed for outdoor use.

And unlike a portable Bluetooth speaker, a properly positioned pair can help distribute music more evenly across your outdoor space.

EVEN BETTER — THEY'RE ON SPECIAL!
Normally $1,099 per pair — NOW $799 per pair.

That's $300 towards getting your outdoor entertainment sorted!

🔊 GREAT HI-FI. SMALLER PRICE TAG. DID YOU KNOW WE HAVE A DEMO CLEARANCE SECTION?

Most of you already know about our Specials page, but there's another corner of our website that's well worth exploring!

👀 DEMO CLEARANCE!

As a proper hi-fi retailer, we believe in letting people hear equipment before they buy it. That means we have speakers, amplifiers, streamers and other components that have spent time in our stores doing what they were designed to do — making great music!

From time to time, we need to make room for new equipment, refresh our displays or simply move things along.

That's where you come in!

Our Demo Clearance section features ex-demonstration and display equipment at reduced prices. Some items may have a minor cosmetic mark or show signs of use, but that's reflected in the price.

And because many of these are individual demonstration units, once they're gone, they're gone!

Whether you're upgrading your existing system, adding another listening zone or looking for something special, it's worth having a browse.

📶 FIRST IN THE SERIES — WI-FI FOR YOUR HI-FI! Following on from our recent post introducing our Wi-Fi for your Hi-Fi technical tips series, here's the first instalment!

MORE WI-FI IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER WI-FI!
You've got a strong Wi-Fi signal, so why does your music streamer keep dropping out?
Surely adding another Wi-Fi extender, repeater or mesh unit will fix the problem? Well… not necessarily!

Here's something that might surprise you. A strong Wi-Fi signal doesn't always mean a good connection. Interference from neighbouring networks, Bluetooth devices, wireless accessories and even your microwave can affect performance. And sometimes adding more wireless equipment can actually make things worse!

The good news? You don't necessarily need to replace your router or spend a fortune on new equipment. Sometimes the answer is simply understanding what's happening on your network and positioning the right equipment in the right place.

One of our resident technical team members has put together an article explaining why more Wi-Fi isn't always better Wi-Fi, and why a properly connected wireless access point might be a smarter solution.

There's more practical technical advice on the way, drawn from real-world experience helping customers get the best from their Hi-Fi systems.

At The Listening Post, we're interested in more than just selling equipment. We want you to enjoy your music without the frustrations! And sometimes, it all begins with a conversation.

Bring in your favourite music. Bring your questions. You can even bring along your existing equipment if you're considering an upgrade.

Sit down, have a listen, compare a few options and discover what works for you.

No guesswork. No pressure. Just good advice from people who genuinely enjoy music and the equipment that reproduces it.

Whether you're building your first proper system or refining one you've enjoyed for decades, we're here to help.

🔊 700F OR 800F? WHICH PARADIGM IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Bigger isn't always better. Sometimes it's about finding the right speaker for your room, your music and the way you listen.

We've been showcasing some excellent floorstanders from our Specials section this week, including two favourites from Paradigm's Canadian-made Premier range.

So, what's the difference?

🎵 **PARADIGM PREMIER 700F**

Featuring twin 5.5-inch bass drivers, dedicated midrange and Paradigm's distinctive PPA tweeter lens technology.

An excellent choice for those wanting serious hi-fi performance without an imposing cabinet.

💰 WAS $3,999 — **NOW $2,499 PER PAIR!**

🎵 **PARADIGM PREMIER 800F**

Step up to twin 6.5-inch bass drivers, a larger cabinet and greater bass extension.

For those wanting more scale, authority and room-filling sound, particularly in larger spaces, the 800F is worth considering.

💰 WAS $4,999 — **NOW $3,499 PER PAIR!**

🔥 **BOTH ARE CURRENTLY $1,500 OFF!**

Both offer exceptional engineering, musical versatility and the potential to form the foundation of a fantastic stereo or home theatre system.

**SO WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU BUY?**

Room size, placement, amplifier matching and listening habits all play a part.

Spending more doesn't automatically mean enjoying your music more!

Sometimes the smaller speaker is the better choice. Sometimes the bigger one is exactly what you've been missing.

**THE BEST WAY TO FIND OUT? HAVE A LISTEN.**

Bring your favourite music, tell us about your room and have a conversation with our team.
