We like to support the community.

Today we supplied some props from our recycling crates for the upcoming annual gala of the Feminist Clown Posse. They will clown around with the items and return them for recycling.

This is one of the more interesting things that has come in for recycling. We cannot test it since it is missing a few bits and it needs a couple of drums of the liquid that makes the foam.

It would be useful as a spare for a company that already has one.

The resultant packaging is not very environmentally friendly.

The IEC 60320 C13/C14 connectors are used exclusively for mains powered equipment, which here in New Zealand is 230V AC. So imagine our surprise when it was used as a connector to charge up three 12V (DC of course) gel cells. Obviously the charger had the matching plug to charge them.

A competent electrical engineer knows that YOU SHOULD NOT USE A CONNECTOR COMMONLY USED ON MAINS VOLTAGES FOR ELV DC! (sorry about the shouting.)

If it was inadvertently plugged into the mains the fuse would immediately blow. But that is no excuse to use that type of plug and socket.
