Fifty-one flights of stairs, 1,103 steps, 25kg of gear, and more than $12,200 raised for charity.
We’re proud to be an event partner of the 2026 Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge, helping fund vital blood cancer research, raise awareness, and support patients and their families.
Last month, Matthew Dell, Tait Communications’ Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator, joined more than 1,102 firefighters to take on the challenge. He completed the climb in an impressive 14 minutes and 31 seconds while wearing 25kg of firefighting kit, along with a Tait P25 Multiband TP9800, C-C550 Speaker Mic (RSM), and m-View Matrix 2 Plus body worn camera.
“From the internal challenge to fundraising, training with local firefighters, promoting the event and taking part on the day, it was an incredible opportunity for a great cause.
The event staff and firefighters were so welcoming and thankful, and the atmosphere on the day was absolutely amazing.”

In New Zealand, eight people are diagnosed with blood cancer or a related blood condition every day. This year, the Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge raised an incredible $2,518,774 for Blood Cancer NZ, up from $2 million in 2024.
We’re proud to support an event that honours the first responders who serve our communities and makes a meaningful difference for families affected by blood cancer across New Zealand.
