A Short History
After a life threatening illness in 2002 Garth Murray, who is part owner with his wife Stephanie, incurred a brain injury. It seemed that after the injury Garth's creative side was more prominent and with his background in both electrical and mechanical aeronautical engineering he was able to engineer new and quite unique speaker designs. At the time there were very few if any c
ompanies building aerodynamic speakers but this turned out to be one of the key factors in improving speakers to a whole new level. Since that time the models have improved as we have learnt more and more about varying aspects of speaker construction and design from some of the top audio engineers and companies around the world. Our philosophy has never been focused solely around standard speaker construction theory. While we do believe in the many advancements that our competitors have made we have found that some key and quite critical areas are often neglected. Accordingly we have chosen to focus on several very specific areas of design. Namely elimination of Harmonic distortion in both the drivers and the cabinets, very fast transient response or attack, aerodynamic airflow around the cabinets and very precise quality control of all the components we use. All of which improve the overall listening experience to a point of near reality. These efforts have not gone unrewarded. We have had many favourable magazine reviews both here in New Zealand and overseas. We have also been awarded several business awards including Champion Canterbury Business of the Year, Producer Manufacturer, Small Enterprise 2008, an award which we are very proud of. Our speakers are also being used by some very well recognised and awarded people in both the Hifi and Home Theatre industry including Nathan Haines and Hammond Peek. Our clientele is continuing to grow as we market our product both in New Zealand and internationally with markets continuing to grow in Australasia, Russia, USA, Europe, the Middle East and Asia
Our goal is that the speakers disappear and the music or home theatre audio becomes the attraction. Only by re-producing sound that is real does this happen and do people become truly emotionally involved with the experience of enjoying audio.
