Like the saying says, "Out of the frying pan into the fire", this past week, stepped up a notch with our team only just finishing working on the Kathmandu Coast to Coast, only to then have to deal with the loss of our Marleys hill repeater site as a result of the port hills fire.

All of our portable sites were still out on the hills following the Kathmandu Coast to Coast, and helicopters had become a rare commodity, therefore we had to call in reinforcements from further south. Our staff worked together with the team from Ashley Communications Ltd to stand up temporary repeaters to get all of our customers and theirs back online within 24 hours of the fire destroying the site.

We would like to thank our staff and all of those who have helped out this week. Also thank you to Fire and Emergency NZ for their hard work and also allowing prompt access to the site to assess damage to allow all of us to make plans to get our customers back online.

Thank you also to our customers for their understanding. There is now a large task in front of all of service providers at the site to rebuild their infrastructure.

The team at Outback Communications Ltd were recently recognised at both the Radio Frequency Users Association of NZ 2022 Industry Awards and Gala Dinner and also at our Tait Communications NZ Dealer Day.

At the NZ Dealer day we we awarded the Tait Solution Partner of the Year, which is a fantastic achievement!.

At the RFUANZ Gala dinner, Keri took away the the Health and Safety Silver Shield award. This was for all her hard work behind the scenes keeping us on the straight and narrow!
