💰 CRAIG & NEAL ARE GIVING AWAY $4,000! 💰

Yesterday Karen headed along to the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce NZ Networking Over Coffee at Bupa St Kilda.

Being a Life Member of the Chamber, she even dusted off her proper name badge rather than wearing a sticker. Very official. Very professional. 😂

The only problem?

She forgot to take it off.

And then proceeded to attend another couple of meetings around Cambridge… still proudly wearing KAREN MAY – LIFE MEMBER on her chest. 🤦‍♀️

We’re not sure whether this says:

Karen’s memory isn’t quite what it used to be…

She wanted to make absolutely sure everyone knew who she was…

Or she was getting maximum mileage out of the Life Member status. 😂

Either way, if you saw Karen yesterday – yes, she does actually know her own name.

Most days. 😂

You might know Kylie as the clever creative behind plenty of the work that comes out of Kaz… but come the weekend, there’s a fair chance you’ll find her behind the wheel of something a little different. 😎

Meet the ’63 Buick Wildcat. ❤️

Owning a classic car had always been a dream for Kylie and her husband, and this year they decided it was time to stop talking about it and make it happen. Even better, they found their Wildcat right here in Cambridge!

Since then, they’ve been cruising, attending classic car shows and even bringing home a few awards along the way. 🏆

And what does this have to do with Kaz? Absolutely nothing really. 😂 We just thought you might like to know a little more about the girls behind the business.

Kylie can happily talk classic cars. Karen can happily talk fishing. And both of us can talk design, branding, websites and marketing until the cows come home.

So don’t let the fact that we’re a couple of chicks fool you… we know our horsepower AND our pixels. 😂

Although, to be fair, Kylie probably knows considerably more about horsepower than Karen. Karen just knows where the fish are biting. 🎣

Well… this made me feel like a dinosaur! 🦖😂
A visit to the Cambridge Museum and there it was – a piece of Apple equipment just like the one I started my career on… 40 years ago!
Back then, designing an ad meant typing code, outputting everything to paper, cutting it out, waxing it, rolling it down and physically piecing the whole thing together.
There was no dragging something two millimetres to the left. No Command Z. And definitely no Canva! 😂
We were pretty handy with a scalpel though… and still had all our fingers!
It was incredibly labour intensive, but hell, it was a lot of fun.
Today, we design everything on screen and pretty much see the finished result as we create it.
Same creativity. Very different tools.
Oh, how times have changed… and somehow I’ve been lucky enough to change along with them. ❤️

MEMBERSHIP… a little bit like a gym membership! 😉

You can join, pay your membership fee and admire it from afar… or you can turn up, get involved and make the most of it.

I’ve been a member of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce NZ for close to 25 years, am incredibly proud to be a Life Member, and through Kaz, a proud Chamber Partner.

And after all those years, I still believe you get out of your membership what you put into it.

Over the past month alone, I’ve had the opportunity to attend a free Business Capabilities training session, learn more about how I can get even more from my Chamber membership, hear about the growth happening within our community and, of course… network, network, network!

But there’s also a huge amount happening behind the scenes.

Our Chamber team are passionate advocates for Cambridge businesses. The advocacy work they undertake on behalf of members – and often the wider business community – is incredible, and I think we’re very fortunate to have such a proactive Chamber batting for Cambridge.

So, if you’re a member, my advice is simple: use it!

Turn up. Attend something you wouldn’t normally attend. Introduce yourself to someone new. Ask what’s available. Have a conversation. Get involved.

Unlike the gym, there’s considerably less Lycra involved… and often coffee. ☕😂
