A charging scooter battery exploded in a central Wellington apartment over the weekend, leaving one person in a critical condition. Peter Simpson is the director of battery specialists SimPower, and he joins Mark to talk about the dos and don'ts when it comes to batteries.

We have been monitoring the weather conditions and following along the precautionary measures in place to combat this extreme event.

You would have received an emergency alert on Sunday by the Auckland Council confirming heavy rain and strong winds incoming.

Due to this, and keeping in mind the safety of our staff, the SIMPOWER office will be closed Monday 13th of February.

Our plan is to open on Tuesday the 14th February as per usual, but we will monitor and only open if it is safe to do so. We will update you as events unfold.
