These are the words of Marc Barron, Principal and Director at , on using the Masterspec platform for 2026 NZIA Nelson & Marlborough Architecture Award-winning projects: Port Tarakohe.

"JTB Architects operate across many project scales โ€“ from small residential properties through to $100m commercial developments. We have used Masterspec for over 25 years for all of our projects and appreciate the specification product range running from Minor, Basic to Standard, allowing us to match the appropriate level of project complexity.

The range of product selections and supporting documentation, together with regular updates, allow our team accurate, informed and current information that supports the quality and accuracy of our documentation. The use of the MasterKey link between Masterspec and our drawing files allows regular updates that streamlines our workflow as the design progresses and ensures accurate and coordinated project documents."

From the words of Paul de Leeuw, Registered Architect at Ignite, on working with the Masterspec Platform to deliver one of Ignite's newest and most innovative designs for Christchurch City, which transforms the iconic original Excelsior Hotel site into a high-quality, sustainable, mixed-use commercial building:

"Throughout the design of 211 High Street, we used Masterspec alongside MasterKey to keep our drawings and specifications aligned. By linking specifications directly to drawing annotations, we maintained accuracy across both documents, streamlined our workflow, and reduced the amount of checking needed.

Masterspec is essential for compiling the Green Star evidence we needed to help achieve a 6 Green Star rating, and it supported our staged consent process by keeping information consistent through each consenting stage.

The broad product selection and built-in supporting documentation helped us understand installation requirements early. Regular updates to reflect building code and supplier/manufacturer changes meant we could stay current, ultimately saving time and reducing errors."
