Most fleet managers looking at driver-facing cameras have the same four questions, and very few vendors answer them plainly.

Our GM Cam Simmonds sat down and worked through all of them. What happens in an accident, and what footage you actually get. Whether your drivers have to be filmed, and what happens if someone covers the lens. How much footage leaves the vehicle, which is far less than people assume. How long installation takes, which is about forty-five minutes a vehicle.

Vision runs a 170 degree in-cab lens and a 140 degree road-facing lens, with forward collision and lane departure warnings, seatbelt detection, and fatigue alerts that pick up micro-sleeps and call out to the driver in the cab. It doubles as the GPS tracking unit, so tracking and camera run on one platform and one plan from $62 NZD per month.

If a toll notice lands and nobody can answer that, your pool cars have a record-keeping problem.
