Four years ago, during one of the most uncertain times for ECE, Utopia Education began with one simple belief:

What started as an idea during COVID has grown into a community built on trust, connection, and genuine support for one another.

Over the past 4 years, together we’ve built something meaningful from the ground up:

It has been a year since we launched our Utopia Education app and what a journey it has been so far! 𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆?

Should child care centre teachers be paid the same as kindergarten teachers?

Teachers in child care centres have the same qualifications as kindergarten teachers and perform essentially the same tasks.

In fact, they sometimes have greater responsibility, as many of their students are infants not much older than babies and also require mothering skills.

Yet the government considers that kindergarten teachers are entitled to a higher rate of pay!

Shouldn’t there be a pay parity for all?

Teaching is not a job, it’s a vocation.

It’s a calling requires a particular type of dedication.

The biggest difference between childcare centres and other industries is that profit does not come first, children do.

Children are first and foremost, young minds that need nurturing and education.
They are not a business!

When education is based primarily on profit, we degrade the teaching profession as a whole.

We need to appreciate and recognise teachers who have long term experience.

They are the jewel in the crown.

As Aristotle stated

Utopia value our teacher’s work experience. We appreciate your long-standing dedication within the ECE industry.

We have always been a firm supporter of Pay Parity. We take pride in supporting our teachers with a competitive rate. With the recent launch of the Extended Pay Parity, we are excited to announce that we will be increasing our rate for the relief teachers who have met the step 10 and 11 as of 1st April 2023.

For centres we won’t be passing on any additional charge. By charging the same flat rate we have kept our promise to support you. This is our way to show our appreciation towards our centres - those teachers will bring their wealth of experience and long-standing teaching skills to support the centres.
