Disadvantages of Tally Software in Nepal 🇳🇵
1. VAT & IRD Compliance Issues
Tally is made in India, so it is not fully customized for Nepal IRD rules.
IRD VAT formats, fiscal year (Shrawan–Ashadh), and reports often need manual adjustment.
2. No Direct IRD Online Integration
Tally Nepal version cannot directly sync with IRD Nepal’s online VAT system.
VAT return files must be prepared manually, increasing error risk.
3. High Cost for Small Businesses
License cost is expensive for small shops and startups in Nepal.
Annual renewal (TSS) is costly compared to local software.
4. Complex for New Users
Interface is not beginner-friendly.
Requires trained accountant; normal users find it difficult.
