The Maitri Information (MIC) Club – Vol. 27 featured another valuable knowledge-sharing session this month, hosted by our People Ops Manager, Melisha Rajopadhyaya.

This month’s topic introduced the Situation–Behaviour–Impact (SBI) Framework — a simple and structured approach to delivering clear, objective, and impactful feedback. The session highlighted how focusing on the situation, observable behavior, and its impact can reduce ambiguity, minimize personal bias, and encourage more constructive workplace conversations.

Maitri Services was pleased to participate in the 3rd Edition of AWS Community Day Nepal 2026 which took place on May 16 at The Plaza, Lalitpur — one of Nepal's largest community-led technology conferences, organized by AWS User Group Nepal.

The event brought together over 500 developers, engineers, architects, startup founders, and enterprise leaders, with 6 international speakers and 10+ national speakers contributing across 15+ technical sessions, keynote talks, and specialized tracks covering cloud infrastructure, AI/ML, DevOps, cybersecurity, and platform engineering.

Built around the theme "Nepal is not just adopting cloud — it's becoming a builder ecosystem," the conference reinforced the growing role of community-driven learning in shaping Nepal's cloud, AI, and cybersecurity ecosystem.

The Maitri Information (MIC) Club – Volume 26 featured another great learning session this month, hosted by Badal Shrestha.

The topic explored the two AI models that power disease coding at Maitri Services. The session covered how the NER model identifies disease mentions from chart text and how the embedding model matches those diseases to the most likely ICD codes using vector-based similarity.

The team gained valuable insight into:

✔️ How NER extracts disease entities from text
✔️ How embeddings represent diseases in vector space
✔️ How models are fine-tuned for greater accuracy and domain adaptation
