Amakomaya "आमाकाे माया" Amakomaya is a project designed to increase the outreach of information related to maternal and child health related issues to rural pregnant women.

𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐚 – तपाईँको गर्भावस्थाको साथी। 🇳🇵 The basic aim of the project is to provide educational and motivational contents related to pregnancy to rural populace. The contents will be provided in the form of video, audio and text format. All the are d

eveloped in a standard format and are localized (in Nepali language) so that, rural people with very low or no education can understand it. Different formats of the content allow the target population to acquire more knowledge that triggers behavioral change in them. The project is based on three basic principles. They are:
● Connect
● Inform
● Monitor
The project will develop an android application which will provide video, audio and text content to rural pregnant women and connect them with nearest Government Health Facilities through FCHVs, then to urban based hospital doctors through Health Post for further analysis and suggestions to increase potential for safe motherhood. The pregnant women will be able to register her conceived or due date. She will then be able to get weekly pregnancy related contents relevant to her stage of pregnancy and be well informed about the changes she and her baby in going through. With this access to information, she will be able to monitor her and baby’s health status by herself and by visit to authorized health institutions. The project is an extension of “amakomaya.com”; a web based application that aims to provide pregnancy related contents to rural pregnant women. It was initiated since May, 2012, with the grant of $4000 provided by Internet Society (ISOC) small community grant under Next Generation E-learning Leadership program. The web application was implemented in 10 V.D.C.s of Myagdi, Kaski, Nuwakot and Rasuwa district in Nepal. However, due to insufficient access of computer in the rural community of most of the rural areas, the project couldn’t create the expected outcome. So the previous project decided to disseminate audio and video content in smart phone device by using MicroSD card. This idea has left encouraged result and so the project was motivated to develop Android based application to offer different features and services for pregnant women and other related stakeholders such as FCHV, City hospital doctors (from Teaching Hospital and Patan Hospital in Kathmandu), Rural health workers and Government of Nepal.

गर्भावस्थामा औषधि खाने समय र आवश्यकता आमाको स्वास्थ्य अवस्था अनुसार फरक हुन सक्छ, तर सामान्य रूपमा:
🤰 पहिलो ३ महिना (First Trimester)
✅ Folic Acid खान धेरै महत्वपूर्ण हुन्छ।
यसले बच्चाको मस्तिष्क र मेरुदण्डको विकासमा मद्दत गर्छ र जन्मजात समस्या (Neural Tube Defects) को जोखिम कम गर्न सहयोग गर्छ।
💊 सामान्यतया:
गर्भ रहनुअघि देखि सुरु गरेर
गर्भावस्थाको पहिलो ३ महिनासम्म नियमित खाने सल्लाह दिइन्छ।
🤰 ३ महिनापछि (Second & Third Trimester)
✅ Iron (आयरन) र Calcium (क्याल्सियम) आवश्यक हुन्छ।
🩸 Iron ले:
रगतको कमी (Anemia) हुन नदिन
बच्चाको वृद्धि र अक्सिजन पुर्‍याउन मद्दत गर्छ।
🦴 Calcium ले:
बच्चाको हड्डी र दाँत विकासमा सहयोग गर्छ
आमाको हड्डी कमजोर हुनबाट बचाउँछ।
ध्यान दिनुपर्ने कुरा:
Iron र Calcium एउटै समयमा नखानु राम्रो हुन्छ।
कम्तीमा 2 घण्टाको फरक राखेर खानु उपयुक्त हुन्छ।
Iron खाली पेट वा Vitamin C भएको खानेकुरासँग खाँदा राम्रो सोसिन्छ।
Calcium खाना खाएपछि खान सकिन्छ।
👩‍⚕️ तर केही अवस्थामा:
रगतको कमी,
थाइराइड,
जुम्ल्याहा गर्भ,
कमजोरी,
वा अन्य स्वास्थ्य समस्या भएमा
डाक्टरले Folic Acid, Iron, Calcium को मात्रा र समय फरक सल्लाह दिन सक्नुहुन्छ।
त्यसैले नियमित ANC checkup मा follow-up गर्नु महत्वपूर्ण हुन्छ।
