My review for the new Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin":
Pros:
1. Unity has grown beautiful with "blending-in" launcher and a glossy Dash.
2. The Login screen changes background according to the user you've selected. This looks beautiful but that means your background is no more private.
3. Unity is a little more customizable (without 3rd party customization tools).
4. Unity is much more easier with much more keyboard shortcuts.
5. The HUD lets you do almost anything my directly typing what you want to do. Just tap ALT and start typing anything you want to do, your query will be searched through all the menus of the active window, so you'll never have to browse through the menus anymore.
Cons:
1. There is some serious bug in the Software Center. It takes forever to install anything, and the Universe and Multiverse repositories are not activated by default. And when you click the "use this source" button, it takes ages to update the cache. (You can use "apt-get update" after tweaking the sources.list file to get through this.)
2. The GRUB has some issues if you are installing from a USB-drive. It installs the GRUB IN the pendrive, so you'll have to have the pendrive inserted everytime you boot. Reinstall GRUB in the HD after you install Ubuntu. (Use "install-grub ".)
3. The dash no more courteously moves out of the way when you move a window towards it. It stays there stubbornly even when you maximize a window. You can choose it to auto-hide but that way it'll hide even when the desktop's empty.
4. Rhythmbox is the deafault music player. Banshee was better.
5. The is no original GNOME shell to log into, like in the previous version. You are compelled to use Unity, whether you like to or not. You have no other (built-in) options.
If there is anymore Pros or Cons that you find, please let me know.
