Many thanks to all people who visited and contacted us through this page over past Months. I have not visited this page for quite some time as we decided not to continue with the business due to a lack of local interest. It seems the majority of people enjoy paying top dollar and waiting extended periods of time for their repairs.

We may resurface sometime in the near future when funding is sufficient enough to launch.

Again, my sincere apologies to those who made contact in my absence from this page.

After 12 years, on the 8th of April this year, Microsoft will stop supporting Wiindows XP. After this date there will be no further security updates or technical support for the Windows XP operating system. It is therefore very important that Windows XP users migrate to a more modern operating system such as windows 7 or 8. Of course updating your operating system depends upon how capable your computer is of handling the newer versions of windows. We at Trondheim PC Klinikk can provide any help, advice & support you may need in making the move from Windows XP to a more recent version of Microsoft Windows. We can upgrade older machines to make them ready to support the new operating system, install it for you and give you a tutorial on how to use the new operating system (Windows) It is our mission to make the move as pain free and easy for you as possible. We will even back up your files and folders to make them available when your computer has been updated / upgraded.

Don't get left out in the cold, because in our estimation, hackers will be on the lookout for Windows XP users after this date seeking to steal information and infect many computer's with Virus infections.

Computers are supposed to make things easier right? and when they are working right and used properly they really do, but often many people don't know how to use those little gems which are built into Microsoft Windows to help make your life (and others) easier. Over the coming weeks I will publish some of those hidden 'secrets', those little known applications that can save a whole bunch of time and expense.

One such application that is not so well known is the 'problem steps recorder, or PSR for short.

The PSR has 2 very useful functions. Firstly, let's suppose you have an annoying problem on your PC, you want to tell someone about it, but it's not easy to explain - Well, now that you know about PSR, it just got easy!

Step 1. Get ready to recreate your particular problem (whatever is failing)
Step 2. Go to your start button and click it.
Step 3. In the search box type PSR and then press Enter or click on PSR.exe at the top of the search results.
Step 4. Click the Record button on the little PSR window which opened at the top of your screen
Step 5. Do whatever you did before which causes the error whilst PSR is recording.
Step 6. If you want to add more information about the problem or error you can click the button on the PSR recorder which says "Add Comment", if you click this it will ask you to highlight the area of your screen you want to draw attention to. This is achieved by dragging a box around the area, by holding down your left mouse button and dragging your mouse around the area. Once you release the left mouse button a message box will pop up and allow you to type in a message about the problem. Once you have added your comment just click ok. If you feel that you have now shown your problem and added a comment about it if you chose to do that, then simply click on Stop Recording on the little PSR window at the top of the screen.
Step 6. After your stop recording you will be asked you give your recorded file a name, it will automatically be saved to your Desktop (Skrivebord in Norwegian) so just type in a name like Problem and click Save.
Step 7. Now you have a file on your desktop that you can send to someone else by email or otherwise. They will be able to see exactly what you did and also any errors which occurred along the way, and also if you chose to Add a comment they will also be able to read it.

Using this can greatly reduce the amount of time spent troubleshooting a PC problem and similarly it can also allow a qualified technician to connect to your PC remotely and fix the problem for you within minutes or otherwise advise you how to fix the problem yourself if possible.

As I hope you can see the second major benefit of using PSR would be to use it to record yourself performing a certain set of actions on a PC which you could then pass onto a friend who may be having some difficulty in using their computer - In doing this you could provide a tutorial for them to follow step-by-step with instructions to make their life much easier.

So, why not give it a try - Go ahead and experiment with PSR and don't wait until you have to :)

I used PSR.exe in windows 7 for this tutorial but it is also available in windows 8
