SMØR Press invites the children and youth of Trondheim to two illustration workshops. Everyone up to 18 years old, that can communicate in english is welcome!

“A-Z: a collective publication”
29th and 30th of June 2020
9:00–12:00 and 12:30–15:00

A 2-day workshop, will be revolving the production of a collective publication where every participator works toward a common interest and outcome. On the first day, each participant will illustrate two to three letters. We will introduce some basic illustration and drawing techniques that are used in short sessions. The second day is dedicated to producing the publication

“One day in the Fjord”
14th to 17th of July 2020
9:00–12:00 and 12:30–15:00

A 5-day workshop with the focus in the book as a whole. We will start the workshop by presenting some examples of illustration books: the idea, concept and purpose, formats, different expressions and its power. This is followed by the presentation of the assignment to the participants. The first four days will be guided by us in terms of illustration and drawing techniques, storytelling and character making. The last day we think about binding options and produce one copy and bind the original.

SMØR Press is a publishing house with focus in artistic printed matter run by the artist Carlos A. Correia and the designer Joana Bruno. SMØR aims to support and participate in the publishing sector but also strengthen the publication as an artistic medium and a dissemination tool in the creative industry.
