Congratulations to the ESA - European Space Agency reserve astronauts on successfully completing the ESA training programme, including training with the PaleBlue VR simulator.

Since October 2024, the astronauts have undergone extensive preparation across a wide range of disciplines, including human behaviour and performance, medical training, scientific operations, spacecraft systems, flight engineering, and life support systems.

An important component of the programme was VR-based training on the ISS digital twin, developed by PaleBlue. Through the simulator, astronauts experienced virtual zero gravity and practiced navigation and operational tasks in weightlessness. The training also allowed them to familiarize themselves with all ISS modules, rehearse operational procedures, and respond to emergency scenarios in an immersive environment.

We extend our best wishes to all members of the astronaut reserve and look forward to welcoming them again in our simulator training systems in the future.

ESA’s astronaut reserve members have completed their Astronaut Reserve Training (ART) programme, marking a key milestone in Europe’s human spaceflight ambitions.

PaleBlue attended the MATE Texas Regional ROV Competition, part of the international MATE ROV Competition program that challenges students to design, build, and operate underwater robots while solving mission tasks inspired by real-world applications.

In June 2026, the regional finals took place at the University of Houston. Teams across three student divisions competed in designing and piloting ROVs, with more than a dozen teams taking on the challenge of building and operating underwater robots.

PaleBlue supported the event by bringing a PaleBlue ROV Trainer station, where students had the opportunity to pilot both small and large ROVs in a simulated underwater environment. PaleBlue also awarded the winning team with a license for the training system.

We would like to thank the organizers for inviting us to be part of this inspiring event!

PaleBlue participated in the Nordic-German Space Dialog held in Bremen. As part of the Nordic delegation, several Norwegian and Swedish companies - including PaleBlue - were invited to visit Bremen and engage with leading space industry actors, including Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz Kaiserslautern, OHB SE, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), ArianeGroup, as well as the Chamber of Commerce of Bremen and Bremerhaven (IHK Bremen).

PaleBlue CEO Dr. Felix Horn presented the company, its capabilities in simulation and training, and its track record in spaceflight. Over the course of the three-day event, we had many insightful discussions with fellow participants and look forward to further strengthening the dialogue between PaleBlue and the German space industry.

We would like to thank Johan Verbeek Wolthuys and the Deutsch-Norwegische Handelskammer - Norsk-Tysk Handelskammer for the excellent organization, as well as the Norwegian Space Cluster for extending the invitation.

PaleBlue, a leader in digital training technology and simulators, has successfully delivered a zero G simulation engine to ESA - European Space Agency, to be used in a number of spacecraft applications, including the Gateway lunar space station program, part of NASA Artemis program.

The simulator technology, previously available as a simulation system, has been modified and extended into a flexible engine that can serve as a foundation for creating new simulators. This allows ESA, along other PaleBlue partners and clients, to build their simulators on top of the PaleBlue simulation engine. The framework allows addressing a wide range of use cases, from spacecraft engineering and design verification, to astronaut training.
