We are extremely proud that Camilla Thorrud Larsen, SVP for Volue’s Energy Solutions, has been awarded the “Power Woman of the Year" Award (Årets Kraftkvinne).

The award celebrates the remarkable achievements of women working in renewable energy in Norway.

The award is an initiative by Kraftkvinnene, an organisation that works to attract more women to the renewable energy industry. The prize was presented by Marte Mjøs Persen, Norway’s Energy Minister this evening.

“I am thrilled to be recognised by Kraftkvinnene. The very existence of the Kraftkvinnene network and the award show that we have many exceptional women working in the renewable energy industry in Norway. I hope that through this award I can convince even more women to join the industry,” says Camilla Thorrud Larsen.

“The energy transition requires innovation and new thinking. With a growing share of renewables, power production planning and trading have become very challenging. To tackle the challenges, we need to recruit diverse talent into the industry, including getting more women in the room. At Volue, we work towards establishing a 30 per cent gender balance on all levels of the organisation,” adds Camilla Thorrud Larsen.

Victor Eriksson has managed the delivery of some of the largest energy optimisation and trading projects in Volue’s history. We talk to him about how the work of power producers is transforming thanks to automation.

For Victor, the most telling sign is when the project manager on the client-side is really pushing for the project to go live.

“When you see that the chief of the control room or the head of dispatch burns for the project, you know that you are onto something very positive.”

Rolv Seehuus is appointed Head of R&D at Insight by Volue. He has managed teams in the data and analytics domain for many years and is currently Director of Engineering at Schibsted.

“Rolv will lead our talented R&D team and contribute to setting the right technology strategy and creating services that will further grow our platform and business,” says Jørund Haartveit, Director, Volue Insight.

With so much at stake at in , watch this video of Norwegian polar explorer Børge Ousland who has observed the effects of climate change first hand. 📹

Børge has spent more than 30 years exploring the polar regions.

In 1990, Børge and Erling Kagge became the first explorers ever to reach the North Pole unsupported.

Børge later became the first person to cross Antarctica solo.

In his recent expedition in 2019, Børge and Mike Horn crossed the North Pole in the dark, a feat described by as the ‘boldest polar expedition of modern times'.

At Volue's conference 'The Promise of Green Energy', Børge not only captured the audience’s imagination but delivered some of the most powerful messages of the conference.

“It’s too late to be a pessimist”. This message was echoed by many of the speakers at ‘The Promise of Green Energy’, Volue’s first energy conference that took place in Oslo and via live stream earlier this week.

We are extremely proud that we were able to gather together some of the smartest minds in the energy industry. We were inspired by their vision and how they drive our societies to a net-zero emissions future.
