Only two weeks to go until ! 🎉

This year’s show will be an extra special one for Nevion as we celebrate our 30th birthday, marking three decades of innovation in media transport and broadcast infrastructure.

It is also the 10th anniversary of our Virtuoso software-defined media platform, which was launched at IBC2016.

Speaking of which, we’ve just announced the latest upgrade to the platform, bringing further enhancements to HEVC media transport, including more precise control over bandwidth and latency, AAC-LC audio compression and continued latency improvements.

📢 Nevion Virtuoso news! We’re excited to announce a new upgrade to Nevion Virtuoso, bringing further enhancements to HEVC media transport.

Our latest release gives broadcasters more precise control over bandwidth and latency when using HEVC/H.265 compression, helping to optimize transport for different production requirements.

It also introduces AAC-LC audio compression alongside Virtuoso’s HEVC capability, helping reduce overall transport bandwidth even further.

We’re continuing to improve HEVC latency too, with the recently introduced optimization mode reducing encode-decode latency by approximately 40%.

Plus, new customer-defined “Inspect” views make it easier to bring selected function diagrams together on one screen and monitor the parts of a workflow that matter most.

🎈 Ten years ago at IBC 2016, we launched Nevion Virtuoso.

A decade later, our versatile software-defined media node continues to support some of the world’s most demanding live production and contribution workflows.

So, in the run-up to IBC 2026, we’re putting Virtuoso in the spotlight.

We’re exploring five of its key capabilities, including how it helps media organizations adapt, compress, transform and secure their media, as well as manage audio effectively.

☀️ Nevion has been making the most of the summer outdoors!

Over the past two months, colleagues across all our Nevion offices have been running, walking, hiking, cycling and swimming as part of the Sony Summer Challenge 2026, getting active, enjoying some friendly competition and supporting charitable causes.

And we certainly covered some ground. 👟🚴🏊

Together, our Nevion participants clocked up an impressive 9,268.34 km and raised €993.79 for WWF, contributing to a much bigger effort across Sony Europe.

This year’s challenge marked its 10th anniversary, with Sony colleagues collectively covering more than 257,000 km and raising over €49,000 for good causes.

From mountain trails and bike rides to runs closer to home, it’s been great to see so many of our team members taking on the challenge and sharing a few adventures along the way.

Well done to everyone for putting all those kilometers on the board! 👏

Across his nine-year career at Nevion so far, Piotr Duraj, Nevion's Solution Delivery Director in the Professional Services team, has had some memorable moments, but one project stands out from the rest ⤵️

↪️ The modernization of Finland's radio system for Yle, the country's national broadcaster.

🗨️ “It was one of the first projects where I was involved throughout the entire lifecycle, from proof of concept and a system design that had to accommodate countless corner cases and real-world operational requirements, all the way through implementation and commissioning.”

The countdown to has begun! ⏱️

It’s that time of year again where we look ahead to the event where broadcasters, rightsholders, content owners and solution providers converge.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be giving a taste of what’s to come from us on the Sony booth – 13.A10 in Hall 13.

From the launch of next generation software platform MOXELA to the introduction of Panel Builder and a 30th birthday for our company, it’s been a busy year!
