It`s about Metronome Technologie:::
A tiny bit of my own musical journey through recorded music in my home.
I`ve been an active amatour musician for more than 30 years, trough beeing a drummer and bass guitarist in a pop/rock band, plus in a norwegian accordion band, and later on, since ca 1969 on my own with my acoustic guitar.
I`ve been a member of Kristiansand Symphonic Orchestra for many years.
So I believe myself, I am quite capable to judge and review musical instrument sound in it`s original form.
Who can tell the difference between a fiddle and a viola in our hifi crazy world??
I stopped all band playing while I was as young as 16 years old
I understood back then that if I continued that musical path, I wouldn`t be able to enjoy music when I got older, so I cut that string.
I continued with pure acoustic, no amps and no professional focus - just enjoying music.
Along with my own music - written a lot - my real hifi journey started in 1971 / 1975, and that became a very important thing in my life.
The plan for my own hifi store started at the end of the seventies, but it lasted till 1997 before I started PM Audio.
Important: I started to use dedicated ear protection in the middle of the seventies, to save my ears from collapsing when I got older
Now comes what this story are really about::
When the CD player was launched in 1983, the hifi media went crazy and said that - NOW WE`RE AT THE FINISH LINE - EITHER THERE IS NO SOUND - OR THERE IS PERFECT SOUND.
Just remember this when you read hifi reviews, also of our own products.
I ran to one of the local hifi stores in Kristiansand, to listen to this unique product they called CD player - and I ran at double speed back home and embraced my turntable.
I really didn`t understand what the hifi journalists were talking about!
Around 1990, Øyvind Håkonsen, the drummer in the megapopular poprockheavy band in Norway, RETURN, gave me a CD player. He thought that it was a tradegy that Paul didn`t own a CD player.
My life has been about musicians and real music.
I gave that CD player to my son!!
The CD player gave me no real musical feelings, so I wasn`t at all interrested in this new musical wonder, so I kept my closeness to my LP/vinyl player and vinyl records.
The CD and digital products evolved and got better ( the hifi media told us back in 1983 that it couldn`t be better!!!! ) and we showed the people in Norway and Sweden and Denmark on hifi shows that we year after year were among the very best for sound performance, playing CD`s. We used mostly CD players because of the easyness.
Read the hifi magazine FIDELITY after the hifi show in Horten Norway 2005 ( I think it was 2005 ) where FIDELITY wrote a whole page about PM Audio` musical performance
The heading was: A musical oases from PM Audio
So - it was proven through many years that we had one of the best digital / CD music performances, every time we did demoes.
But - for me personally - it was not the thing that pleased me much.
At home, in my own livingroom and demoroom, when I and my wife should have a good time in the weekends, with good music, we never played CD`s
We played only LP`s!!
No matter how good CD players / transports and DAC`s we used, it wasn`t real music in our ears.
If someone says that we didn`t have the best products
In Norway: Check out Dynamic Precision DAC
Internationally, The english Audio Synthesis DAC called DAX
On internet this DAC was often mentioned as "THE DAC"
The DAC abowe all DAC`s, at that time
And the years went by, till ( I think ) ca 2014, when we got the distributor agreement with Metronome Technologies from France
From the moment the first CD player from Metronome came into this house - CD 8 - our digital musical life changed dramatically.
Suddenly, the CD player performed and fed real musical sounds into our room and now it sounded more like the music I had been experienced during my musician years. Not perfect, but a real change and now I could go through CD after CD, and feel like this musical presentation was quite close to the real thing.
Metronome changed my life!!
And through the years Metronome have worked on and increased their musical quality and in fact, managed to make digital music sound quite like analog music.
I am really thankful towards Metronome`s genious people, because they expanded my music world!
I`ll take a streaming trip later on
And at last, Metronome`s mountain top are KALISTA.
Can`t talk about Kalista now!!
All the best to all to music lovers

Pictures shows my Ovation and Levin guitars
This Levin was the last one produced in Sweden, when it was good.
Then the production moved to China, and it was no Levin anymore
