We’re thrilled to welcome Warin Jaeger to Aiba as our new Head of Trust & Safety!

Warin brings over a decade of hands-on experience keeping online communities safe. He has worked extensively with online games, helping shape moderation practices, content policies, and safety workflows that have protected millions of young users. At his previous company, MovieStarPlanet, Warin worked in roles spanning from content moderation to leadership in Trust & Safety.

He has participated in industry discussions with law enforcement, regulators and industry partners in the EU, UK and beyond to help set shared standards for child safety online. He’s deeply familiar with how moderation systems work in practice: what scales, what breaks, and what users really need. For Aiba, Warin’s experience means we’ll be even sharper at building tools that responsibly protect communities.

Under his guidance, Amanda will see quicker detection of abuse, better workflows for moderators, stronger compliance support, and more thoughtful designs that put user safety first. He shares our belief that safety isn’t only about stopping harm. It’s about making safety part of the experience, so people feel safe to play, share, and connect.

Please join us in welcoming Warin to the team. We’re excited for what we’ll build together!

Safety is most visible when it fails, yet it is often why people stay:

For a long time, Trust and Safety was seen mainly as defense. It was about avoiding lawsuits, keeping regulators satisfied, and trying to stay out of the news. Important work, but often treated as a cost rather than something that could create value. That picture is changing. Adrien B. Diarra wrote....

Sweden put grooming in games on the leadership agenda.
The ask is simple: show outcomes.

Prove you can spot grooming patterns early, act quickly and fairly, preserve evidence, and explain decisions in plain language.

Public attention in Sweden has moved fast. A national investigation raised concerns about grooming in popular online games. Ministers met with industry and asked what has changed and what will change next. Police in one region launched a pilot with schools and social services to act

Safety Is Not a Side Project

Moderation has long been treated as overhead. That is changing.
Today, safety drives retention. Spam control protects engagement. Together, they build stronger communities and more resilient businesses.

Clean, trusted spaces keep people coming back.

When users leave a product or community, the first instinct is to blame the features. Maybe the game felt stale. Maybe the app was buggy. But more often than not, people do not leave because of lag. They leave because of each other. Toxic behavior, spam, harassment, and bots make a space feel unsafe...

How people behave tells a deeper story than what they say.

In the latest Fusion Fireside interview with ThreatFabric, our very own professor Patrick Bours explores how behavioural modelling and passive biometrics are transforming fraud prevention, spotting risk through behaviour patterns instead of static rules.

He also highlights a growing need for explainable and ethical AI, ensuring that powerful systems remain transparent and trustworthy.

Patrick’s work bridges research and real-world impact, the same foundation Aiba is built on. Our mission is to make online spaces safer by understanding behaviour, not just words.

In our latest Fusion Fireside episode, we sit down with Patrick Bours, Professor of Behaviour at NTNU and keynote speaker at this year’s Fraud Forward event in Amsterdam.

Trust & Safety is often seen as a cost center, something you invest in to avoid fines, lawsuits, or PR disasters.

But Adrien B. Diarra makes a sharp point in his latest piece for CsuiteBrief
safety is now a revenue driver.

Features like impersonation protection, verification programs, real-time detection, and fast account recovery aren’t just “compliance tools.” They’re part of the product experience users actually value — and they’re willing to stay longer (and even pay more) when they feel safe.

At Aiba, we see the same shift every day. Platforms that treat safety as a competitive edge don’t just reduce risk — they build stronger communities, retain players, and grow faster.

Worth a read if you’re thinking about how to position safety not as a cost, but as part of your growth story:

From critical infrastructure to consumer platforms, Adrien B. Diarra built his reputation by chasing risk wherever it grew fastest. “My background in trust and safety has been tied to the evolution of online threats,” says Diarra.

Online communities are under pressure.

Millions of posts and messages flow every minute, and both players and regulators expect platforms to act in real time.

The truth is: neither humans nor machines can do this alone.
That is why moderation needs to be fast where it can be, human where it must be.
✅ Real time filters block the worst content instantly
✅ Automated systems resolve the majority of routine cases
✅ Human moderators focus on the difficult, nuanced decisions

This balance protects communities, reduces costs, and builds trust.
👉 In our latest article, we explain why the three layered approach is the future of content moderation and how it helps platforms scale safely.

Online communities face enormous pressure to keep harmful content under control. Players and users generate messages, posts, and streams at a scale that humans alone cannot manage. Regulators and users alike increasingly expect platforms to act quickly, with real time detection and enforcement now s...

If teens use your platform, watch Adolescence on Netflix. Seriously.
It’s raw, real, and shows how quickly online interactions can spiral — while parents and adults are left shocked, unaware, and completely out of the loop.

The disconnect between teens' digital lives and adult understanding is massive. And that gap is exactly where harm can spread.

At Aiba, we build AI to detect and prevent that kind of behavior — before it goes sideways.

If you're building for a teen audience, this docuseries is required viewing.

Here are our takeaways:

Let’s build digital spaces where young users can be themselves — and stay safe.

It's a raw reminder of what it’s like to grow up online, and how far behind most adults still are. Netflix’s Adolescence doesn’t tell a story about predators or platform failures. It tells the story most adults don’t see: teenagers navigating love, shame, identity, and friendship in a world ...
