Next week, the Visualization Group will host a two-days seminar on Tensor Algebra in the context of Continuum Mechanics. The speaker, Øyvind Andreassen, is a professor at the Univ. Graduate Centre at Kjeller (UNIK) and researcher at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI).

We are glad to announce that the Visual Computing Forum seminar series will resume this Friday, August 23, entering its 3rd year. This Friday, our speaker will be Stefan Bruckner, professor at the VisGroup and an awarded scientist in the international visualization research community. The seminar will be preceded by another notable event: Andreas Lind, one of our Master student, will defend his MSc thesis, entitled "Selected Opportunities for the Semiautomatic Analysis of Spectrally Decomposed Seismic Data". The defense will start at 8.45 in the same room.

To celebrate the upcoming summer holidays, the Visual Computing
Forum and MedViz have organized a joint seminar for Friday, June 14. The seminar will take place from 14.00 to 15.30 at CMR (Fantoftvegen 38, Bergen)

We will host two illustrious speakers: Anders Hansen (Research fellow, University of Cambridge, UK) Petter E. Bjørstad (Head of the Department of Informatics, UiB)

The seminar will be followed by an informal gathering, where we will have the chance to exchange and discuss different topics.
