2020 was a different and eventful kind of year. As it draws to its close, we also know that we have learned to be more flexible, more creative in finding solutions and indeed very appreciative of the dedication of our teams and of the trust of our partners. We kept delivering on our mission: ensure business continuity by securing power for critical activities from industrial processes to hospital operations. Today we celebrate the birthday of German industrialist and engineer Emil Rathenau (1838–1915) – the founder of AEG. By developing large-scale power plants, he created the prerequisites for nationwide electrification and made electricity available to the general public. Under Rathenau's direction, AEG built the first overhead line with high-voltage alternating current and laid the foundation for the electrification of Germany.
Since its start during the industrial revolution, electricity has become the evident driver of today’s applications. Still today, we, at AEG Power Solutions, strive to secure electricity supply and to make sure it is available in the most reliable way possible. With our expertise in AC and DC technology since over 75 years, we develop innovative products to secure power for local and grid-scale applications.

We are proud to celebrate the 75th anniversary of our engineering and manufacturing facility in Warstein-Belecke, Germany. On October 1st, 1945 AEG (Allgemeine-Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft) signed the contract establishing the new facility which would manufacture tubes and rectifiers. 75 years later, after combining expertise with Saft, Harmer&Simmons and Alcatel converter, the facility is part of AEG Power Solutions and the portfolio has expanded to , and and a comprehensive service offering. AEG Power Solutions has developed a distinctive expertise and world-class engineering capacities that bridge both AC and DC power technologies and is leveraging its conversion expertise to engineer and deliver solutions contributing to the energy transition.
