8th Wall collaborated with Monkeypaw productions and MGM to create a web-based augmented reality experience to promote the upcoming film called ‘Candyman’.

The app interestingly enough uses voice activation to start the AR tool. The user’s image is blended with more imagery as the number of times the name is pronounced grows. This instills the idea that candyman is actually being summoned. The final trailer can be viewed once the end scare has been reached.

Burgers’ Zoo developed an augmented reality application for customers that would like to walk their favourite route in the park. The application helps customers save time or makes sure they’ve seen everything through predefined paths.

App users have the option of using the live view feature. This feature allows the user to follow virtual arrows which point the customer in the right direction. This means any path the user wants to take through selecting the animals they want to see. The live feature is powered by beacons placed in the zoo, updating information to the customers phone. The user also receives additional information on their favourite animals by tapping on their icons.

Reese’s puffs released a new campaign using AR. Through the use of augmented reality technology, Reese’s is allowing customers to turn their cereal boxes into a groovebox or synth.

The cereal box works with software from PuffsFX that transforms the box into a music box using your phone’s camera. Puffs fans can utilize puffs’ box location and start to create beats using AR. Each box has a choice of five sound packs.

Reebok has released Courting Greatness, an augmented reality tool that allows smartphone users to scan a surface and see a standard basketball court on their phone screens.

Using the smartphone camera, the program overlays court elements on fences, alleyways, and other surfaces. The consumers can mark with chalk or tape to establish the boundaries of a regular-sized court and start to score their first points. The augmented reality technology promotes basketball to people who don’t have access to courts.

Doritos worked with Verizon Media and RYOT Studios to launch an augmented reality game. The goal of the campaign was to attract a younger audience and to reinforce attachment to the company.

The AR game ran for a month and challenged players to hunt for Doritos chips, shaped to match the four symbols found on a Playstation controller and placed into virtual Doritos packs.

The brand has created exhibition displays and augmented reality murals at UNIQLO stores.

The unique AR technology, partnered with local artists, provides an interactive experience by pointing their mobile phones at the mural. Customers can also unlock face filters on Instagram after scanning the AR mural, granting them access to take selfies with various hawker art. UNIQLO also wants to educate the masses and create awareness on hawker culture through iconic T-shirts and diverse ways of increasing sustainability locally.

Visitors who have the Legoland Windsor Resort app can scan four codes located next to the statues. After scanning, the app opens virtual portals, from which the creatures come out. Visitors can take a selfie with the creatures, collect digital cards, and read the creatures’ backstory.
