Commissioning complete at Spaansen, Harlingen βœ…

Yesterday our engineers wrapped up the final commissioning day at Spaansen: a concrete panel manufacturer in Harlingen. The system was upgraded with additional safety measures to improve installation safety, and yesterday everything ran perfectly.

As you can see in the photos, real engineering means getting your hands dirty. And we wouldn't have it any other way. πŸ™ŒπŸ”§

Ready for the North: Sofia VG β„οΈβš“

The Sofia VG, a new 105-meter Ecotrader vessel for Meriaura Group, has been delivered with a complete automation package from Marble Automation. The vessel carries a 1A ice classification and is ready for operations in northern waters.

Marble delivered the full automation backbone on board, including the DC Power Management System, AMCS, UMS, tank measuring system, alarming and safety systems, and the MS1100 bow thruster control system. All systems are fully integrated on one platform, giving the crew a clear and direct overview at every stage of operation.

For manoeuvring, the MS1100 enables precise bow thruster control from the bridge, supported by two wing stations. The modular DC PMS ensures efficient power distribution and optimized fuel use.

With all systems commissioned and fully operational, the Sofia VG leaves the yard ready for safe and efficient sailing.

Innovation on board: Willem Barentsz βš“

The project for Rederij Doeksen has been successfully completed. Following the earlier delivery of the Willem de Vlamingh, her sister ship Willem Barentsz is now also fully operational with the new system.

In close cooperation with Piet Brouwer Elektrotechniek and Werft Shipbuilding, Marble Automation developed and installed a DC Power Management System on both vessels. This system forms the core of the installation and ensures seamless communication between all onboard systems.

With five HMI screens on board, the crew has a clear and direct overview of all system performance at any time.

By integrating advanced monitoring, including IO-Link sensors and full alarm system connectivity, the vessels operate more efficiently and with greater control. The use of PTI/PTO on the PM motors significantly reduces gas consumption, resulting in more economical operations.

With the delivery of the Willem Barentsz, the hybrid upgrade of both vessels is complete. Marble Automation shows that innovative complex automation works in practice.
