Personal History:
Terrier was born in Montmartre, Paris. His family moved to Tournan-en-Brie, where he lived until he left for Paris at age 19.

His first sport was football and he got as far as playing for his département or area. Friends encouraged him into cycling and he rode his first official race when he was 16, which he won. Alexis parents did not want him to race, and he raced without them knowing. He won four more races in his first year. Fignon's parents allowed him to race, but still thought that he should study. Fignon entered the University of Villetaneuse, doing Structural and Materials Science. This study did not go too well, and he left soon. After this, Fignon was sure he wanted to pursue a professional career.

Career:
In season #17, Terrier rode for Eiffel Cycling. He caught the eye of the former rider and manager, Quick Step Minded, who gave him a place in his professional team, when he was 21 years old. Terrier was scouted, but was advised to join TACXkin, as Quick Step Minded was not able to train his potentials. TACXkin pampered young Terrier, who became one of the best cobblers of his generation in a matter of a season.

In season 18, he was selected for the National Team in CoN Paris, where he played a key role in the victory of Delorme. The next season his effort was recognised when he was captain of the French Team, finish 6th and was crowned with the French Tricolore. He won two cobble races and finished second in another two, including in Minsk CBGP, where his team manager desided he had to cross the line behind his team mate Gaetan Dauwe. At the end of the season his performance was recognised by the OCM, sulting in two nominations: one for best cobbler and one for best youngster.

Terrier with his eye on renewed cobble success
Written by Wesp (TACXkin) at 09:38 11/2-2012

Don't ask Alexis Terrier to choose whether he would rather win Schwedt Classic or Antwerpen – Huy. “I cannot choose a single race. I've been training to be strong for the races," he said. “It would be a success to win either one of them. I cannot choose one or the other. For me they are at the same level. I love them equally. It would be like choosing between Mom and Dad.” he says.
The TACXkin rider said that he is looking forward to see his improvement since last season. I would like to least equal my runner up position in Germany and I really want to know what my chances are in the hills of Wallonie”.

“This season is already perfect with two wins (in Bouillon and Torino) and two second spots in Hamar and in Minsk behind my team mate Dauwe, who will be my lead out in Belgium.” TACXkin's manager Wesp selected only the best men to support Terrier for his beloved cobble courses: allrounder Ralf Tielemans and the talented brothers van Asseldonk will do double shifts, whereas Sprinter Freek Dehaese and Gaetan La Rose (who is back after an injury) will lead Terrier through Belgium.

Torino GP: Terrier does the double
Written by Wesp (TACXkin) at 13:29 4/2-2012

French national champion Alexis Terrier powered to his second one-day victory in a week, winning Bouillon Classic Thursday with another humbling of rivals like Sebastien Persoens (Radu) and Bartoli Rivera (Omega Pharma Lotto).
The TACXkin rider's victory in the gruelling 159km race, known as the 'Hell of the Piedmont' due to its 17 sectors of bone-shaking cobblestones, means he also becomes the 4th rider to achieve this cobble-double. Two days earlier, Terrier left Persoens struggling to keep pace with an attack 50km from the finish line of the Bouillon and he tricked our Bartoli Rivera in the sprint. The pressure was on these cycling stars to take revenge on Saturday.
Several riders were trying to get away from the peloton from the first kilometres of the race. At the first cobbles the best cobblers of the Zyte Division increased the pace and a group of 20 was formed and no one in the peloton would see them back. Like in France, all cobble champions were again at Terrier's mercy. With a few kilometres to go, the break away ended in a sprint. With 100 metres to go, Oswald Vancleave launched the sprint, but both Alexis Terrier and Alberto Mori passed him in the sprint. The unrivalled power from Terrier allowed him to win the sprint and going on to savour his win in style, with Alberto Mori right behind him.

Alexis Terrier graps his win in Bouillon Classic
Written by Wesp (TACXkin) at 17:32 2/2-2012

Terrier threw his bike at the line and won a few centimetres to take the biggest win of his career. He collected the kisses and the praise on the podium. “I worked very hard for the victory and I'm going to take my time to enjoy it,” Terrier said.
The Frenchman rode aggressively in the rain-soaked race, launching a solo attack in the middle of the key hilly section of the race with more than 50km left to race. He quickly gained a gap of half a minute on a chase group with all the big-name favourites.
“On the Noirfontaine climb it was time to gamble and I had the legs to go there,” Persoens said. The Belgian winner of CoN Paris first caught up with the group of chasers and then he left them on the cobbles of the Curfo when there were less than 30km to race. At that moment the gap between Persoens and Terrier was more than a minute. Persoens and Terrier fought out an intense pursuit but the Belgian closed the gap second by. With 15km to go, Persoens joined up with Terrier. By that time, Bartoli Rivera (Omega Pharma Lotto) and Steward Marcez (Quick Step Minded) launched a counter-attack together with a group including last year's winner Antao Neves (Team Trier).
“I didn't wait for Persoens but when he came back I saw that he didn't have much left in his tank. I knew that he would try to attack. If I could neutralize that attack I would be mentally at an advantage,” Terrier said. After Persoen’s attack, the two were caught by a chase group of thirteen. In the last kilometres there were no serious attacks and the ten sprinted for victory. Terrier surprisingly turned out to be faster than expected. “Normally Bartoli (Rivera) is faster but after such a race it's different. I wasn't as sure as he was that he’d won but in the end he was ten centimetres faster today,” Rivera conceded.

French line up for CoN Paris
Written by Wesp (TACXkin) at 13:23 29/1-2012

The French National Cycling Team gathered in Paris today to participate in the CoN Paris.
The team is possibly France’s strongest team ever and will be spearheaded by the likes of Daniel Isnar (Boutonnet), Thierry Carlier (De Coppis), Delrick Massart (Vaneyk), Gaulthier Frémaux (Team GER) and Isidore Delorme (Jacekjs), who recently came back from Hungary winning Szeged – Röszke. Captain of the team is Alexis Terrier (TACXkin), the current French champion, recently showing his good form with a nice fifth place in Hannover and a second in Minsk CBGP.
Both the coach Delion and the captain expressed confidence in the team and said although the competition will be of an extremely high standard, they expect the French team to hold its own and give a good account. Delion said: "Unlike the first three races of the CoN season where we were, at best, as outsiders, we arrive in Paris with a top level team, by far the best we've ever had! Terrier is the captain for the first time but certainly not the last! He is supported by a veritable dream team: Delorme, defending champion, Isnard, cobbler Emeritus, Massart, fish-experienced pilot, Carlier, young gifted and Frémeaux, team mate who have contributed to 3 top9 results. Everyone will have an excellent DP-RS too!"
