VGE was formed in 1982 under the name of Van Gerven and made frozen food for the aquarium market. In the more than 30 years since then, VGE has grown into a specialist in UV-C equipment and filters for a variety of industries, including the swimming-pool, pond and industrial markets. In 2012 Van Gerven, along with its sister company Van Erp International โ€“ specialising in the production of UV-C equipment for the swimming-pool market, was taken over by the Sinvest Group. In early 2013 the companies were merged and the name was changed to VGE International B.V. Export to more than 70 countries worldwide

VGE manufactures top-quality UV-C equipment and filters and supplies them from the Ekkersrijt industrial estate in Son (Eindhoven) at a fair price. We export our products to more than 70 countries worldwide. VGEโ€™s clientele is made up of wholesalers, chain stores and private label customers. Innovation enjoys high priority here. So we have our own product development department that regularly introduces new, top-quality products. Existing products are also continuously subjected to critical examination and where necessary developed further. Our product developers ensure that the products meet the wishes and requirements of todayโ€™s market and the applicable safety standards. Sustainability, energy savings and environment-friendliness are key elements in the development and production processes. VGEโ€™s products are known under the brand names Blue Lagoon, Xclear and VGE Pro.

This fruit cooperative is an organization with more than 400 fruit growers are affiliated. For the processing of its apples, the fruit cooperative transports them over water via long lanes. In this way, the apples are cleaned so that they can ultimately be consumed safely by the consumer. From the perspective of sustainability, the company was looking for a solution to reuse the cleaning water and prevent water wastage.

Inside the water treatment process, the UVC installation ensures sustainable disinfection of water, making water reuse possible. As it is a physical process, no unwanted compounds are added to the water which can alter the quality and potentially harm your crop. Besides, unlike chemicals and other pesticides, VGE Pro UV is non-selective. Any pathogen inside the water will be easily destroyed! In this way you and I eat a healthy and sustainable apple!

Every company has unsung heroes who might not seek the spotlight, but absolutely deserve it! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ˜Š

Johan is our Production Manager at VGE. After getting on his bike before dawn to go to VGE, Johan covers quite a few more meters at the warehouse and offices, which is inherent to his varied role.

Johan is an indispensable part of our team as he deals with all departments within the company: from R&D to sales and the warehouse (making daily 12,000 steps easily ๐Ÿ˜Š). Working with his team (he currently manages a team of 12 employees) combined with production and logistics planning is really 'his thing'.

In his team, Johan works with diverse cultures and nationalities. The potential language barrier is not an issue, everyone likes to collaborate and is eager to learn. Johan emphasizes that he values a good atmosphere, which ensures that you work TOGETHER to get things done. The customer's wishes are always central. And being active all day is a pleasant bonus.
