20 years ago we started NLix and decided to not only connect the main datacenters in the large hubs but also bring our IX to the doorstep of regional Datacenters. By doing so we offered smaller and medium sized networks easy access to our Peering platform, and this gave birth to our distributed Internet Exchange. We quickly recognized that our customer’s interconnection needs stretched beyond publ

ic peering only and developed a complete portfolio of interconnection services enabling us to not only offer peering but also partial & full Transit as well as inter-Datacenter Transport services on a single port. A key factor in this of course was, and still is, our resilient low latency network that made instant European wide exchange and transportation of traffic possible. Today our complete portfolio is directly available in over 100 Datacenters in Europe. A portfolio of services that is growing, as we are harnessing 20 years of knowledge and experience into new innovative services to better accommodate both our new and traditional customer’s needs; Adaptive Transit, a hybrid peering & transit service; Elastic Interconnect, a complete suite of Interconnection services for Enterprises as well as a growing number of direct connections to the most important clouds.

From May 19 to 21, NL-ix will be attending ANGA COM 2026 in Cologne.

ANGA COM brings together the broadband, telecommunications and media industries for three days of exhibitions, networking and discussions around the future of digital infrastructure. The event focuses on topics such as fibre rollout, connectivity, streaming, cloud services and next-generation network technologies shaping the European market.

Representing NL-ix will be Michael Gross, who will be on site to connect, exchange ideas and talk about interconnection, traffic exchange and network connectivity.

𝟕𝟒𝟏 𝗚𝗯𝗽𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗡𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗡𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰.
NL-ix DDoS Protection jointly mitigated approximately 23% of a 3.2 Tbps / 400M pps attack together with RoyaleHosting, demonstrating the value of close operational partnership during attacks at this scale.

Attacks at these volumes show why DDoS protection needs to be designed strategically — combining sufficient mitigation capacity, intelligent traffic engineering and multiple layers of protection to keep networks operational under pressure.
