On May 13th, Allied for Startups, StartupAmsterdam and other startup ecosystem partners (Techleap.nl, Dutch Startup Association, Considerati) will be hosting a webinar to guide startups through the challenges of the new Digital Services Act.

The Dutch Cabinet announced that it will allocate €100 million in bridge loans for start-ups, scale-ups, and innovative SMEs. Starting today (April 29th), these companies can apply for a Corona Bridging Loan (COL). This arrangement was established through the cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, joint ROMs, TechLeap.nl, and the close involvement of Invest-NL.

The Dutch government has announced that it will provide an initial €100 million in bridging loans for startups, scaleups, and innovative SMEs that have been financially affected by the impact of COVID-19.

This measure will be submitted to the European Commission and is expected to be approved in the fourth week of April.

De Corona Check, a COVID-19 symptom checker backed by several Dutch hospitals is now available nationwide in the Netherlands. The app allows anyone to have their symptoms checked remotely by a medical team.

This initiative is a collaboration between OLVG, Luscii and it is endorsed by several partner hospitals from the Netherlands.

VC's assure that the main problem is not that funds will dry up. Startups will need to change, leaving only those that are lean enough to adapt.

There may be less active funds in 2021, as total funds raised in VC for early-stage may take a large step back from the record highs seen in 2018 and 2019.
