The ability to 3D print components required for the Bluejay 7.1 drone has been made possible thanks to .nl .So far the printer has made it possible to generate several landing gear solutions required as well as other fundamental components required for the assembly of the drone using a wide range of materials. We hope to continue integrating 3D printing with advanced mechatronics!⚙️

Meet the board!🥳
The last subteam within Blue Jay is the management team, who together, oversee everything that is going on inside and outside the team. Within management, we have a team manager, who is the face of the team towards the outside world and also leads the general meetings. We also have an external manager, who stays in contact with all the partners and sponsors and is responsible for acquisition. Then there is the finance manager, who keeps track of all the moneys💰. We also have a PR manager, who manages all the socials and promotion of the team. There is also a HR manager, who keeps track of the well being of all the team members and manages the onboarding of new team members. And finally, the event manager, who organizes and manages everything that comes with the events we organize as a team. Meet the software team!🥳
The goal of the software team this year is to implement the autonomous flight on our drone, more specifically to make the drone navigate itself from one position to another in a complex environment. In order to achieve this ambition, we need to overcome a number of challenges, namely localization and mapping with Ultra Wide Band (UWB) sensors, obstacle detection with Lidar and path planning based on these sensor data.
The goal of the software team this year is to implement the autonomous flight on our drone, more specifically to make the drone navigate itself from one position to another in a complex environment. In order to achieve this ambition, we need to overcome a number of challenges, namely localization and mapping with Ultra Wide Band (UWB) sensors, obstacle detection with Lidar and path planning based on these sensor data. All of these combined together will make the dynamic and static mapping possible in real time to improve the adaptation of the drone to the surrounding environment.

Meet the Interaction Design Team!🥳
The interaction design team within Blue Jay focuses on the interaction between humans and drones and how to facilitate and implement this interaction in a proper, intuitive, and comfortable way. The current projects the team is working on are gesture and voice control. The gesture control will enable people to control the drone on a basic level with nothing but the motions of their hands and arms. When the drone is far away or for some reason unable to see you, speech control can be used. This will be implemented in a brand-new app and will enable the user to give more commands by talking with the drone through this app. Furthermore, there will be looked at the use of LEDs on the drone as a way of feedback and clarification to the user.
