𝗦𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘅 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗵𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻
What a weekend! Eindhoven was filled with runners, supporters, and plenty of enthusiasm during the ASML Marathon Eindhoven.

On Saturday, families and kids joined the running fun, while Sunday was all about the Quarter, Half and Full Marathon. Our Sioux colleagues took on the different distances, with even a pair of gnomes spotted among the runners! 😉

And of course, our runners weren’t alone. Colleagues, friends, and family came together to cheer them on. Armed with Sioux cheering signs and plenty of enthusiasm, our supporters made sure the runners received some extra motivation along the way. 📣

Restaurant The City was our Sioux home base for the day, where everyone could come together to celebrate, catch up, and recharge after all those kilometres. A big thank you to the team at The City for taking such good care of everyone!

Congratulations to all our runners, and a special shout-out to our colleagues who cheered their hearts out along the route. You made it a great weekend! 🧡

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟱𝟬🔬
Today, the 150th Ultra-X module leaves Sioux Technologies. A milestone that reflects years of development, industrialization, production, and close collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific .

Ultra-X is an EDX detection system for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s high-end transmission electron microscopes. It enables materials to be analysed down to the atomic level, combining high speed with the sensitivity required for demanding microscopy applications.

Sioux has been involved from the early development phase onwards. Together with Thermo Fisher Scientific, our multidisciplinary teams worked on the concept, engineering, prototype, industrialization, and serial production of the module. The first beta module left our production facility in 2021.

Reaching number 150 shows what happens after a complex high-tech design has been proven. Serial production requires controlled cleanroom processes, dedicated production equipment, trained specialists, supply chain management, testing, and qualification before each module is ready for delivery.

A great milestone for everyone who has contributed along the way, and a good example of how we bring high-tech from development into qualified series production.

Depending on who you ask, the answer can be very different. This time, we asked System Architect Thomas Dietel.

For Thomas, system architecture at Sioux is about understanding the complete high-tech system and bringing different technologies and disciplines together. Because in complex systems, no technical decision stands on its own.

System architecture helps determine:
- How different subsystems interact.
- Which technical choices influence overall system performance.
- How requirements are translated into a clear system concept.
- Where trade-offs need to be made between different technologies.
- How specialists from different disciplines can work towards one integrated solution.

That means our System Architects work closely with experts in software, mathware, electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, and other disciplines. They connect specialist knowledge, look at the interactions between technologies, and keep the complete system in view.

As Thomas puts it: ‘Seeing all those disciplines come together in one concept or product is one of the most exciting parts of the job.’

That multidisciplinary way of working also means moving between very different technical challenges. For Thomas, the combination of variety and the opportunity to go into real technical depth is an important part of what makes his work at Sioux interesting.

Depending on who you ask, the answer can be very different. This time, we asked Mathware Designer Oksana Manyuhina.

At Sioux, mathware helps turn complex questions into working solutions. It connects mathematics, algorithms, models, data, and domain knowledge to improve the performance of high-tech systems and processes.

𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴
Many warehouses still rely on a standard box set that was never optimized for the products going into it. The result is often more empty space, more filling material, and higher shipping costs.

That's about to become a legal problem, not just a cost problem.

The EU's Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) sets new requirements for packaging efficiency, including a minimum fill rate of 50% for shipped parcels. The first obligations already apply from August 2026.

At Sioux Technologies, we look beyond simply minimizing empty space. By combining order history with real carrier rates, material costs, and handling requirements, we help determine the most cost-effective box portfolio and packaging choice for each order.

We helped Abbott put this approach into practice. Based on their shipping data, we developed an optimized set of boxes and introduced dedicated packing software to guide employees towards the best packaging option for each shipment.

The results were:
👉 -50% on filling material
👉 -30% on shipping costs
👉 -20% on corrugated carton

As Jeroen van der Niet, Global Strategic Supply Chain Leader at Abbott, put it: ‘The packaging application has a smart and powerful algorithm and is easy to integrate in order to enable packaging optimization in our warehouses.’

Sioux Technologies has celebrated the official opening of its new office in Pune, India, further strengthening our international engineering network.

Since its start, the Sioux India team has already grown to twenty qualified professionals, with a clear focus on further expansion. The team brings expertise in electronics, mechatronics, and mechanics, supporting high-tech companies with hardware development, value engineering, and lifecycle management.

𝘈 𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨
The office was officially opened before the summer with a festive celebration rooted in Indian culture and tradition. During a traditional puja ceremony, the new workplace was blessed, marking an important milestone for the team and the continued growth of Sioux in India.

For customers, the Pune office provides additional engineering capacity, greater flexibility, and access to a strong pool of technical talent. Working closely with Sioux teams and customers across Europe and Asia, Sioux India helps organizations scale their project teams, support products throughout their lifecycle, and adapt solutions to local market requirements, regulations, and available components.

The opening of the Pune office marks an important step in the continued growth of Sioux India and further strengthens collaboration across Sioux’s international engineering network.
