The Linen Stewardship began in 2020 as a collective exploration of growing, processing, and making textiles from flax by hand. Through shared learning and hands-on experience, a deep connection to nature, craft, and community emerged, inspiring new ways to pass this knowledge on. Five years later, with the hard work of Hans, Marieke, Ellen, Joan, Carolien and Willemien this journey has resulted in the publication of the Linen Stewardship handbook, designed by Dana Dijkgraaf. The publication consists of two booklets, bound together with a lilac and light blue elastic band (in the colors of a flax flower), and features colourful photography, beautiful risograph prints, and a special envelope for storing your own flax. We are very proud to share that the book has been shortlisted for the European Design Awards 2026! Another reason to celebrate craftsmanship to the fullest!
