In a few months, on June 6, the will reopen its doors. The museum will open with a new identity created by us. We’re super excited to see the new identity come to life in the everyday hustle and bustle of the renovated museum!

Here’s a glimpse of the updated .utrecht identity, designed by thonik. The typography draws inspiration from the building’s history as an old WAS station, now transformed into an industrial space where we dance, connect, or do whatever feels right.

The letterforms mimic the shape of soap bubbles, inviting you to zoom in and get lost in the dark canvas of the night.

Rooted in colorful, transformative, accessible, and visual principles, the site captures Noorderlicht’s perspective with straightforward typography, bold layouts, and of course, photography at the forefront.
