We’ve just completed the rollout of our updated transcoding layer using RTPEngine. 🎉 With a few targeted changes, we’re now prioritising the OPUS codec - and the improvement in call quality has been immediately noticeable! A small shift technically, but a meaningful step forward in real-world performance.

We’re making a small but important change in the ecosystem. 🚀

The Browser Phone code will be moving out of Siperb, and replaced by the new Siperb Phone, which will become the standard browser softphone going forward. You’ll soon be able to access it directly at: https://www.siperb.com/phone

Thanks Google! 👏 This latest update in Google Chrome feels almost tailor-made for us. 🎉 You can now split a tab - which means it’s ridiculously easy to run the Siperb Phone side-by-side with any CRM, SaaS, ERP, or intranet, all in one browser window. No plugins. No juggling tabs. Just clean, productive workflows!

Sometimes, things just fall into place. 🚀 From day one, Siperb has believed that the principles behind WebRTC are fundamentally sound — and that real-time communications would eventually converge around them.

In 2025, part of that vision became reality. Meta (WhatsApp) opened its platform to SIP termination, using concepts that align remarkably well with the Siperb Proxy and Softphone architecture.

The result? You can now terminate WhatsApp calls directly using a standard Siperb Trunk — no special configuration required.🔥 If the customer allows it, you can even originate a call-back, all while preserving end-to-end encryption and peer-to-peer media.
