We partnered with SlashData to survey 424 marketing, sales, and developer education practitioners about what's driving developer adoption today, what's slowing it down, and where teams are investing next.

A few findings worth pausing on:

🔸 Misalignment across teams is the #1 challenge (27%) — bigger than complexity, content accuracy, or capacity. Budget is near the bottom.

🔸 The most popular practices aren't the most effective. Written docs and video tutorials are widely adopted but sit below community spaces, POCs, and interactive labs on perceived impact.

🔸 63% of practitioners using hands-on labs report developers fully productive within two months. Without labs, that drops to 42%.

🔸 92% of organizations plan to invest in interactive labs in the next 12 months. The case for hands-on is no longer the debate — ex*****on is.

🔸 AI is everywhere, but the picture is uneven. Half of practitioners describe AI use as extensive, yet over a third plan to reduce it. Marketing and education are the most likely to pull back.

SUSE Rancher Day at KubeCon Amsterdam brought 100+ attendees together — from seasoned Rancher users to first-timers, everyone could jump in and start learning right away.

Jeroen Van Erp explains how the SUSE team used Instruqt to deliver fully interactive hands-on environments that attendees could launch instantly from their browser, without complicated setup or local installations.

Ever wondered what the faces behind Instruqt look like? Time to introduce one of the people behind our product, meet Ben!

Ben is one of our DevOps & Site Reliability Engineer, aka the "chaos navigator”. Working from our Amsterdam office, he helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes 🔥.

When things break (and sometimes they do), Ben is the calm in the storm, making sure everything keeps running smoothly at scale and bringing order when things get a little… chaotic.

With a background in product engineering, Ben is passionate about improving the developer experience and building products that everyone can understand, not just the technical crowd. Because if you can’t explain it simply, is it really a great product?

Outside of work, you’ll find him hiking, listening to music all day, or dropping surprisingly deep facts about… Unicode. 🎧
