For all those sitting at home and feeling helpless about Ukraine, here's something you can do that will actually matter - Turn down your thermostat & reduce your gas consumption at home. Keep it at 17 degrees C until summer comes. Wear a sweater/hoodie, if you feel the chills. Think of the residents of the entire city of Mariupol - they have no heat at the moment.. and it feels like -1 C there right now. This will allow our governments to break away from our dependence on Russian gas and enforce stronger sanctions on them, which will in turn give Russians a reason to take to the streets and hopefully put an end to this war.

Oh, and it is so much better for the climate and your wallets!

Even the City Authorities in Amsterdam are talking about climate change:

Waste represents a minor source of GHG emissions. If waste is sorted and treated right then waste management can contribute towards reducing these emissions. With a good plan for waste management GHG emissions in different fields can be reduced eg transport / agriculture /energy / manufacturing sectors :-). Prevention and recovery of waste can have a huge impact! Using more secondary materials and energy and using less primary materials (and energy) can reduce unnecessary emissions. Recovering old materials and reducing raw material willl save on GHG!

GreenSwapp was recently selected to be the Dutch representative of Facebook's first-ever sustainability documentary series, Rethinkers. It is only a couple min long (our part of at the beginning & the end) but hopefully leaves you feeling hopeful & optimistic about the future of our planet and climate change.
