How to Create JAMB Profile for 2023/2024 Registration – Full Guidelines

2023 UTME candidates should begin profile creation says JAMB

Due to the commencement of UTME registration on January 14, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has advised candidates to start creating their profiles. This will allow the smooth running of the registration exercise and as well prevent delay and stress on the part of the candidates.

To create your profile follow the steps below;

✓ Candidates are required to get a working SIM Card that has been linked with their personal NIN as this will also be used for subsequent transactions with the board.

Candidates who are retaking UTME do not need a new SIM card. They will be required to use the one they used in the recent year which is already registered with the board.

✓ To generate the profile code, new candidates are to send their National Identification Number (NIN) by SMS to 55019 or 66019. The SIM card with which this message will be sent must not have been used for this same purpose for another candidate before.

The SMS which will be sent to 55019 or 66019 should be composed in this sequence;

• NIN must be written all in capital and then space must be left before adding the eleven-digit NIN. Check out the example below;

NIN 12345678912

to 55019 or 55019

✓ Candidates will be charged for the SMS and so their lines must be recharged will real airtime.

✓ Once the SMS containing the NIN has been sent to 55019 or 66019, the candidate would get a reply containing their profile code which is made up of 10 characters.

This mobile number and profile code should be well guarded because it will be required in any other transaction with the board in the future.

The main examination will commence on April 29, 2023.

ASUU/House of Reps Meeting Outcome
..as House summons Finance Minister, Accountant General, Auditor General of the Federation, others over UTAS, IPPIS

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila and the leadership of the House are to meet President Muhammadu Buhari over the resolution of the ongoing face-off between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Gbajabiamila, while addressing journalists after a 4-hour meeting with the leadership of ASUU, led by its president, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke and the officials of the Ministry of Education led by the Minister of State for Education, Goodluck Opiah on Tuesday at the National Assembly noted that on his return from the 77th session of the United National General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, the House leadership will present the agreement reached with the striking workers.

Gbajabiamila noted that the meeting made "good progress and covered good ground" with some resolutions reached.

The Speaker also revealed that the leadership of the House is inviting to a clarification meeting the Accountant General of the Federation, Auditor General of the Federation, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Chairman of the National Salaries Income and Wages Commission on Thursday.

According to him, the issue of the deployment of the payment platform Universities Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) as against the current Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System (IPPIS) calls for clarity before it could be tabled before Mr President.

The Speaker said as an independent arm of government, the meeting with the leadership of ASUU was meant to find solution to the lingering labour dispute and the seven areas of their demands with the hope resolving them for the striking lecturers to go back to school.

According to him, the days meeting would enable the House Leadership to present the agreed demands to the President with the hope that the matter will be speedily brought to an end.

While thanking the labour leaders, Gbajabiamila also expressed his conviction that the labour leaders would go back to their members and convince them on the need to buy into the solution with the House leadership to avoid undue delay of the resolution of the issue.

On his part, Prof. Osodeke thanked the Speaker and the leadership of the House for calling the meeting, which he said he hoped an amicable resolution would be reached after the lawmakers' meeting with the president.
