During the week, they're putting in serious work on the DHF platform — watching lessons, completing assignments, tackling projects and challenges independently. The dedication is real, and we see every bit of it.

But something shifts when they walk through our doors for the face-to-face sessions.

Suddenly, conversations are centered around the questions that have been bothering them. Errors that had someone stuck for days get solved in minutes because the person sitting next to them spotted what they couldn't. It’s been incredible watching the energy shift lately, during the online and physical sessions.

When we first started, there was that classic “newbie” hesitation —lots of confusion and questions. But this week, things are completely different.

Fellows are finally getting focused on their learning paths. They make mistakes, laugh it off, tweak their approach, and hit that “aha!” moment. It’s even better seeing the more experienced ones leaning over to help someone else figure it out.

That’s the real essence of growth. It’s not about some grand, overnight success — it’s in these messy, productive, everyday steps.

Watching Fellows build real confidence is why we do what we do. And honestly? This is only the beginning.

We didn’t just talk about impact. We went to where it is needed.

We left the mainland, crossed the creeks and arrived at Fenegbene — a small riverine community in Warri, Delta State.

The kind of place many people don’t see.

No road leads there.
Movement is by water.
Electricity is not consistent.
And access to the digital world is almost non-existent.

But something else is very present there that's potential.

Women who wake up every day to trade, to build, to support their families.
Women who are willing to do more, if only they had the opportunity.

For years, digital skills programmes have reached Delta State, but they’ve stopped at the cities.

This time, we chose to go further.

This visit marks the beginning of SheBuilds Niger Delta (SBND) — an initiative by WaffiHub focused on taking digital opportunities into riverine communities, starting with Fenegbene.

Not from a distance.
But from within the community itself.

What we saw, the conversations we had, and the reception we received
reminded us of one simple truth:

Opportunity should not be limited by location.

This is just the beginning.
