One of the biggest mistakes you can make in a relationship is marrying someone because of who you hope they will become instead of who they are today.
You see their anger, but you believe your love will make them gentle.
You see their lack of respect, but you believe marriage will teach them how to respect you.
You see their irresponsibility, but you believe that once you become their husband or wife, everything will change.
Please, love someone for who they are, not just for their potential. Even Jesus knocks before entering. He does not force the door open.
So why do you think your love alone can force someone to change when they are not willing to change themselves?
You can encourage someone. You can support them. You can pray for them. You can give them opportunities to grow.
But you cannot do the work of transformation for another adult.
Love can inspire change, but it cannot replace willingness.
Marriage is not a rehabilitation centre, and you are not someone's personal saviour. Before you say, "I will change them after marriage," ask yourself one honest question:
If this person never changes, will I still be happy living with the person they are today?
Do not ignore the warning signs because you are in love with their potential.
Choose someone who is willing to grow with you, not someone you must spend your entire marriage begging to become a better partner.
Remember, love is important, but so are character, accountability, respect, and the willingness to change. Never marry a project when what you need is a willing partner. ❤️
What do you think? Can love really change someone who doesn't want to change? ゚ ゚viralシ
