As Africa continues to play an increasingly strategic role in the global energy landscape, the need for deeper collaboration, stronger institutions, and practical innovation has never been more critical.

The recently concluded African Petroleum Producers’ Organization Forum in Abuja provided a timely platform for this conversation, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and research institutions to align on the future of energy across the continent.

A key theme that resonated throughout the forum was clear: Digitalisation is no longer optional; it is central to efficiency, cost optimisation, and informed decision-making across the energy value chain.

Beyond this, the discussions reflected a broader shift in thinking:
○ From independent efforts to coordinated continental action.
○ From research as theory to research as an engine for ex*****on and competitiveness.

Encouragingly, this shift is already taking shape through:
○ Stronger emphasis on practical, outcome-driven R&D
○ Increased commitment to cross-country collaboration and knowledge sharing
○ The emergence of structured partnerships and joint initiatives across member countries.

As exhibitors, we connected with stakeholders across the ecosystem and contributed to discussions on how digital solutions can improve efficiency, strengthen operational performance, and support long-term value.

We commend the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization for convening a platform that strengthens alignment, fosters collaboration, and drives a more integrated, forward-looking energy agenda for Africa.

The momentum is building, and the path forward is becoming clearer.

27/04/2026

One of the most critical challenges in today’s energy industry is not the availability of tools, but the depth of technical understanding required to use them effectively.

Across the industry, many professionals rely heavily on simulation software without fully grasping the underlying physics, mathematics, and numerical methods that drive reservoir behaviour. This often results in:
▪ Suboptimal reservoir management decisions
▪ Limited ability to interrogate or optimise models
▪ Slower capability development across assets and environments

At CypherCrescent Limited, we believe the solution lies in building strong foundational competence from first principles.

This belief is rooted in proven experience, where a deep understanding of reservoir simulation fundamentals has enabled accelerated growth, faster problem-solving, and adaptability across diverse modelling platforms and asset conditions.

It is on this foundation that we are proud to collaborate with the Nigerian Institution of Petroleum Engineers (NIPetE) to deliver a high-intensity reservoir simulation training using OPM (Open Porous Media), a modern-day equivalent of first-principles-based tools like BOAST.

This training is designed to equip young professionals with practical and deeply technical capabilities in:
▪ Black oil modelling and fluid flow physics
▪ Reservoir simulation using OPMRUN and OPM Flow
▪ Visualisation and analysis of production profiles, pressure behaviour, and saturation changes using ResInsight.

Reservoir simulation remains a cornerstone of effective asset optimisation, particularly as Nigeria continues to focus on increasing production from existing assets.

We are committed to developing the next generation of engineers with the technical depth required to drive performance, innovation, and sustainable production growth.

We thank NiPeTE for the opportunity to contribute to this important initiative.

If you are ready to build true technical mastery in reservoir simulation, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.

07/04/2026

Nigeria’s oil & gas industry is at a critical inflexion point as it pivots towards a 3 MMBOPD from its current 1.84 MMBOPD. From declining production on asset levels and shut-in wells, through asset integrity challenges to underutilised data and fragmented digitalised systems, operators are under increasing pressure to optimise performance while navigating capital constraints and advancing sustainability goals.

The path forward requires an integration of technology for digitalisation of systems for operational efficiency, availability and provision of capital, and policies which will enable the achievement of this desired goal.

We are proud to announce that our Technical Director/CEO, ThankGod Egbe will be speaking at the SPE Oloibiri Lecture Series and Energy Forum (OLEF) 2026, hosted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

With the theme ‘Beyond the Three Million Barrels Target: Harmonizing Digitalization, Capital and Policy Frameworks for Intelligent Operations and Asset Optimization’, the event provides a timely platform for industry leaders to address and chart the course towards achieving the 3MMBOPD goal and sustaining Nigeria’s production output in an intelligently driven operations manner and optimising value derived from assets.

At CypherCrescent Limited, as an energy technology company, our focus remains clear:
✔ Enabling data-driven decision making for oil & gas operations
✔ Identification of opportunities for incremental production from assets
✔ Driving practical digital transformation for oil and gas operations
✔ Rejuvenating brownfield assets for optimal production
