Another night done.
My overalls are stiff with salt and paint. The rig’s quiet now — just the hum of generators and waves hitting steel.
We patched her up good tonight. Rust don’t sleep, so neither do we. Tank walls, deck plates, handrails — every brush stroke is us fighting back time and sea.
I’m dead tired. Hands are cramped. Eyes sting. But I’ll get home, wash this paint off, and sleep knowing the crew walking out for day shift will walk out safe. No slips. No cuts. No failures on my watch.
That’s the job. We protect steel, so steel protects them.
See you tomorrow night.
