Allegations of voters being induced with cash are troubling. If money was indeed distributed during the Osun election, authorities should investigate and establish what happened. Voters deserve a free and credible process.

This is a serious allegation. Telling supporters to monitor voters and “deal with” those who do not support a particular party could heighten tensions at polling units. Election authorities and security agencies should take such statements seriously and protect voters’ right to vote freely.
