NIGERIA FARMERS,...
1. It is Normal to Struggle when you start and to struggle for a while as you seek ways to stability!
2. It is normal for you to fail in the first few years, lose money and be frustrated particularly when ypur government does nothing about localisation and sees importation as the solution to food insecurity!
3. It is normal to try every know bank and financial institution looking for agribusiness friendly loans and be turned down 100 times. It is okay when you are only seeing those who will ask for up to 15% monthly interest even when you have to be a superman to achieve that!
4. It is normal when everyone around you sees ypur progress and Believe it is easy. When they see agriculture as a Ponzi and want to do uber agriculture without being on the farm. We keep telling them that remote farming cannot work ans will not work no matter how much it is presented.
5. It is normal to have sleepless nights and high blood pressure. Because when your plants and animals are seek, you are also sick. For a real farmer, his plants and animals are also part of his family.
6. It is normal to lose your integrity in the eyes of those who believe agriculture is easy. They never valued your work in the first place. They valued using you and they can take that integrity and suck it.
7. It is normal to be called names and be ridiculed for trying to succeed where government is at best imbecilic and not interested in feeding her population. We all know that a national that cannot feed herself is a perpetual slave to others.
8. It is okay to worry, it is fine to be troubled and it is necessary to allow some tears when you are alone. Afterall, you are a human being and you can be overcome by the struggle to feed an ungrateful people.
