A Chinese company has developed a new nuclear battery that can keep a phone running for 50 years without charging. Betavolt Technology claims to have successfully miniaturized atomic energy batteries, which measure less than a coin at 15 x 15 x 5mm. The compact battery uses 63 nuclear isotopes to generate 100 microwatts and a voltage of 3V of electricity through the process of radioactive decay. The battery is currently in the pilot testing stage and Betavolt plans to mass-produce them for commercial devices like phones and drones, but also states that nuclear batteries could be used for aerospace equipment, AI, medical equipment, advanced sensors, and micro-robots. Experts say this technology could revolutionize electronics by removing the need for chargers or portable power banks by creating devices that run continuously and whose batteries do not degrade in terms of capacity and lifespan over charging cycles like the Li-ion batteries.

Microsoft has surpassed Apple to become the world's most valuable company, propelled by its advances in generative artificial intelligence.

Microsoft's market valuation reached $2.875 trillion, outpacing Apple for the first time since 2021. The rise in Microsoft's shares by 1.6% reflects investor enthusiasm for the company's strides in generative AI, while Apple experienced a 0.9% decline, resulting in a market capitalization of $2.871 trillion. Analysts attribute Microsoft's faster growth and gains from the generative AI revolution as key factors in this historic shift.

DA Davidson analyst Gil Luria highlighted Microsoft's inevitable triumph, citing its faster growth and greater benefits from the generative AI revolution. Apple's recent challenges include a 3.3% slide in its stock during January, rating downgrades, concerns about iPhone sales outlook, and regulatory scrutiny on its services business. Microsoft's positive outlook, driven by its generative AI efforts, has earned favor on Wall Street.

Microsoft's collaboration with OpenAI for ChatGPT-powered tools has contributed to its positive momentum. With no "sell" ratings and nearly 90% of brokerages recommending a buy, Microsoft's outlook contrasts with Apple's less optimistic scenario, featuring two "sell" ratings and only two-thirds of analysts endorsing the stock.

Both companies trade at relatively high price-to-earnings ratios, indicating a changing dynamic in the market where Microsoft's momentum could reshape the narrative of tech supremacy.
