Last week at UNGA, Flutterwave and Invest Africa hosted a side event bringing together leaders from government, business, and finance to talk about Africa’s economic future 🚀

We were honoured to welcome the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, represented by Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, alongside Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Dauda Lawal, and Dikko Radda, and Ministers Taiwo Oyedele, Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure. Ambassador Lateef Kayode Are also joined us.

We wrapped up our UNGA 81 engagement in New York with a super-packed room of executives.

Together with Invest Africa, we hosted Africa Forward: Investing in the Next Decade of Growth, a closed-door roundtable that brought senior government officials, business leaders, investors and financial institutions into one room for open conversations about what it will take to unlock Africa’s growth over the next decade.

Having senior Nigerian government officials and state governors in the room, alongside leaders from global financial institutions, investors and businesses, was a powerful reminder of what can happen when the public and private sectors come together around a shared ambition for Africa.

Here’s to building what comes next 👏🏾

We’re excited to welcome Morounke Olufemi as our new Global CFO.

For the past 16 months, Morounke has served as our EMEA CFO, becoming a valued part of our leadership team and playing an important role in our continued growth. Today, she steps into the role of Global CFO, bringing her experience and deep understanding of our business to this next phase of our journey.

With over 24 years of experience across finance, strategy, and banking, Morounke has built a career navigating complex, high-growth environments. Before joining Flutterwave, she served as Group CFO at Access Holdings, where she led capital raises, restructuring, and major M&A.

We’re excited to see her take this experience to the global stage as we continue building resilient financial infrastructure for Africa and connecting the continent to the world.
