Measurements (bits)
1. Name: Bit
Description: A bit contains a digital value. On your device, the value represents a switch position of either On or Off. The software on your device tells the system which position to use.
Value: 0 or 1
2. Name: Byte
Description: Bits are usually combined into a group of 8. This group is called a byte. A byte contains a small amount of information such as a single letter of the alphabet.
Value: 8 bits
3. Name: Kilobyte
Description: A kilobyte contains 210 bits. A kilobyte is large enough to store a few lines of text.
Value: 1,024 bytes
4. Name: Megabyte
Descriptions: A megabyte contains 220 bits. A megabyte is large enough to store about one minute of music (depending on format).
Value: 1,048,576 bytes
5. Name: Gigabyte
Descriptions: A gigabyte contains 230 bits. A gigabyte is large enough to store about three minutes of video (depending on compression and other formatting factors).
