I automated a lead triage system on Make.com
Here's what I learned
Most small businesses have the same problem: leads come in through a form, and from there, everything is manual. Someone has to check the inbox, figure out who's worth prioritizing, and follow up and by the time that happens, hours (sometimes days) have passed.
A lead fills out a form → the response flows straight into a live tracker, with every field mapped automatically (name, email, company, budget, message).
The smart part:
A router evaluates → each lead's budget in real time and splits them into two paths. High-value leads get flagged as "Priority" instantly, while everyone else lands as "New." No one has to eyeball a spreadsheet and manually sort leads by hand anymore.
I tested it with leads across completely different industries: real estate, fitness, ICT, hospitality, and entertainment, and the routing held up perfectly every time. Big-budget inquiries landed in a dedicated "Priority" tab, everything else went to "Standard."
This isn't just a form-to-spreadsheet pipe. It's the foundation of a real sales workflow, the same logic that scales into instant email replies, Slack alerts to your team, and CRM syncing.
Small businesses lose deals not because they lack leads, but because they respond too slowly to the right ones. This is the kind of fix that costs nothing to run and saves hours every week.
Building this out step by step and sharing the process.
